Surely nobody has liked the amount of space given for the fourth game on PT57, regardless of their general preferences?

I hated it when I first switched. But now that I am going back to older PTs without it I miss it.

Right! Another reason why that section is the toughest LG section.

hey guys: pt 60 S1:Q7: between stress and immune system Was between C and E.
guessed E. Can someone explain why E is not right?

If stress is NOT a symptom of a weakened immune system, isn't the argument dead?

So apparently my mental acuity is shit after 9pm....

Did LR#2 from PT56. -7 (disgusting). Missed a ton of ones that I usually don't. Cut the studying loose for the day, I think the night time finally won.

i don't have it in front of me but doesn't the speaker argue there is no medicinal benefit to support groups? if that is the case then e could actually help his argument because it eliminates one possibility we may have anticipated and which we end up seeing in C - that there is a therapeutic/healing benefit to support groups by way of stress reduction. IF stress makes cancer victims MORE vulnerable and if support groups lower stress, it stands to reason there may be some restorative benefit to them. and so naysayer dude is full of shit!

i remember almost missed this one because of "therapeutic," i thought they were trying to be shifty and trick me . but really it is not a shift in terms, we're still talking medicinal here even though it doesn't involve procedures or pills :)

Hello tlsers I could use some advice... I'm scoring consistently in the 160s now, mostly in the low-to-mid range, but I've had a 168 and 167. On blind review or with untimed conditions I score 174-177. I'd like to score in the low 170s on test day... Any advice on how to close this gap between now and Dec 7? LR is my worst section, but I nail it on review--often the case is that I narrowed between two answers and picked wrong.

I really do not want to have to take this test twice, so any advice would be appreciated...

One thing I've done that really helps is concentrate on why you get it down to two answers. One is right and one is wrong, what seems to be holding you up in deciding which is which? Are you falling for premise boosters, or restating the conclusion, etc. I like to write out why the wrong one is wrong, it helps me keep it in mind next time I get down to two choices.

Edit: I am currently working my way through the Difficulty 4 Necessary Assumption questions and I feel like a total idiot.... Thank god there are a lot of them, and any necessary assumption questions on PT 64 better be a breeze after this torture.

Going through old LR qs I missed today. RC passage later, last 15-lr drill later, a few strengthen and flaw qs, and 2-3 tough games.

I've taken to writing out why answer x is wrong and why answer y is right too. Definitely helped me out a lot initially. Now my mistakes are mostly within the difficulty 3-4 assumption family and result from falling for a term-shift, or sometimes a premise booster. I picked up the Manhattan LR today and got through a lot of it... Seems to be good so far. Sufficient assumptions and principle questions have been killing me in the more recent tests.

Any other books besides Manhattan and PSB though? I need to tie this section together if I'm going to score 170+.

E has it backwards. You have to assume that stress causes a weakened immune system, not that a weakened immune system causes stress. The psychologist is saying that stress can lead to a weakened immune system, which in turn increases vulnerability to cancer. So it is the weakened immune system, NOT stress, that causes cancer. In E, the patient already has a weakened immune system, so his/her stress level is not a consideration anymore. The negated version wouldn't destroy the argument because the patient with a weakened immune system will have a higher vulnerability to cancer whether or not there is increased stress.

Took PT66 today

RC -5
LR -1
LG -1 (missed the rule substitution question, still can't find a good strategy for this)
LR2 -0

-7, 174

There's something about RC that I just don't seem to get. I'm usually in the -5 to -7 range with RC. Any general tips?

it's been a really rough two days for me mentally. I'm just not concentrating well at all. I'm thinking I may back off some this week and come back to the LSAT refreshed in a few days, maybe even til Sunday or something.
