LORs are nothing compared to the LSAT and GPA, lets get real. Thats what the law schools really look at.
This is true.

The Canadian law school's I'm applying to don't even require them. Wish I would have found that out sooner... :(

But it's still a requirement for all schools and it can be REALLY annoying when a professor takes over 4 months to write it. It's one less thing to worry about. :) I really suggest anyone who hasn't asked their recommenders to do it NOW.

Well yes, thats true, it is one less headache to worry about,
But, it not like it determines if you get accepted or not. again, lsat and gpa..... (there is no website called top-letters-of-rec.com lol)

well....i wasn't really implying that that was my key to my success here......only noting that the whole application process is feeling more real now....

Hey Guys,

Need some help!

I've discovered that my weakest area of the LSAT is the LR section. I've gone through the 7Sage Curriculum over the previous 6 months, but I'm still scoring A LOT lower than I need to be.

Some of my weak areas:

Flaw Questions (Although this is improving)
Necessary Assumption Questions (I just purchased the Cambridge Packet for all NA Questions PT 1-38)
Sufficient Assumption Questions
Parallel Questions

Can anybody give me some recommendtions on how you improved on the LR Section in general or link me to a previous discussion of this on TLS?

Thanks in advance,

when you guys do a timed LR sect, you're using old PT's right? Wont it be an issue when you see questions you've drilled before on there? Or do you guys use sections from fresh tests

The drilling of questions are from PT's 1 thru 38. So there may be some overlap if you are PTing there, but with 40 thrugh 69 not being covered by any drill packets you still have plenty of material to PT with, i think.

Drilled Level 1 Weaken Qs:
65/70 - 3/5 missed questions come from the first 15 questions. So I am not too worried about the -5

Off to Drill NA/SA Questions.

Just took my first PT in nearly four months on a lark. Got a 179. Not that impressive as I've taken it two other times within the last year (once before June test, once before February). Still, it seems as though all of my LSAT knowledge may not have disappeared completely. Very tempted to start going all in for a third take in December.

Sort of felt good to be back at the ol' LSAT.

Ugh.

Because I just today started studying again. No way I was going to take three consecutive tests. I needed a major breather.

Starting fully timed Preptests in a week...until then I'm knocking out timed sections like it's my job.

are you doing timed sections from completely fresh tests?

I used 29-38 for drilling and I will use them for timed sections, leaving 40-69 for fully timed tests and drilling previously taken tests. If you use too much fresh material for anything else besides timed tests you run the risk of inflating your score because you've seen the material already. However, if you come back to the fresh material after fully timing yourself to do drilling, you're getting better at understanding them.

Why would you retake, given your score and apps already in? In case WL? Will you know if you've been wait listed and therefore should maybe retake by then?

In case I'm waitlisted, for more money, and because .. well, I want a better score (yes, I'm still not over my lackluster results). The question of whether I'll know if I'm waitlisted or not is why I'm debating a February take, but I figure if I do end up needing/wanting to take December, I'll kick myself for putting off studying.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
