buck up. 62 has crushed a lot of souls. if this score was an outlier, accept it and move on to the next pt (:
Also, review those mistakes like a boss. I'm sure the vast majority were silly mistakes (i.e., from you rushing). These poor scores in PTs are actually blessings in disguise since you can gauge the entire spectrum of your flubbing tendencies from them (and, therefore, stay that much more focused and diligent about minimizing them on the real deal).

Overall, felt alright, still need to improve on the LR's so I'm going to do some extensive drilling and review tomorrow, as well as PT 59 probably....I'd like to walk away with at most 2 on each LR for the actual test. If my RC can hold there (albeit this was a relatively simple section i thought), I think things are looking up.
You might just be my LSAT twin.

PT53

LR1 −4
LR2 −3 (can’t blv this shit)
LG −1
RC −2

91, 171

PT scores have dropped and I’ve gotten worse at LR. Seriously, −7 b/w both is unacceptable, as is the LG score when I had 4 mins to spare in the LG section. Going to do a thorough review and fig out wtf I’m doing on LR.

Hey all!

I'm jumping onto this thread, hope you don't mind:) I discovered TLS a few days ago, and have been obsessively lurking in every thread that might give me added impetus for the Dec LSAT.. Noticed this thread this morning, and I thought I'd create a profile so I can obsessively lurk and post

I started studying for my first LSAT (Dec) two weeks ago, so 7 weeks total prep time... A little nervous about the time constraint, but I'm taking TM's online course, which seems to actually work really well for me.

I discovered TLS a few days ago, and have been obsessively lurking in every thread that might give me added impetus. I am now the proud owner of the Trainer and am also trying Synchro, lol.

My goal is a 171+ on the LSAT, which I hope is doable (first diag PT was 160, no prep). So far, based on my first PT, my biggest problem is LR (-17), which I'm working on... I think RC (-6) and LG (-4) should be easy enough to bring up between my course and practice...

So I was wondering... what do you guys think the #1 thing during prep is? :)

If your scores are dropping you might be burning out a bit. Try taking a day or two off to clear your head and don't let it get you down.

Yeah, a lot of the errors are unforced (misbubbling) or come from doubting myself (probably 80% of my errors I had circled the right answer first and then changed it. This shows that once you have the correct process down, you MUST trust it.)

Will be thoroughly reviewing this PT this eve and then taking all of tomorrow off.

Ready to give up.
Ever since I really started studying, I've always thought that 62 is the worst test, with the most unfair and unrepresentative curve.

Two of the four games are the hardest I've seen, with conference far harder than stained glass, actually, even though stained glass gets an awful rap.

RC: I thought the dental decay thing is one of the worst passages I've ever seen.

Don't let this get you down. Fuck 62. Print out those games 10 times though. It's a great feeling when you can tackle them so easily. Once you've conquered 62, you can conquer em all.

62 was certainly a ridiculous games section. I remember just being like i hate this test going through it.

Pretty broken up day today, 4 hours total. Spent 45 minutes doing review of yesterdays PT. Then worked on 4 RC passages from PT 33. Then did the games section from 32, 1 off on a careless error. Finally drilled Level 4 Most Strongly Support for about an hour. PTing 59 tomorrow plus will probably do some more RC and some point of difference LRs too.

I don't think i've ever been more angry with a 170 in my life

PT 59
LG - 1
LR#1 -2
LR#2 - 8 (FACK)
RC - 3

Raw = 87
Score 170

It was a generous curve BUT, that second LR section truly killed what was otherwise a pretty big break through performance. Maybe I lost focus on doing two consecutive LR sections, but that one really went down hill quick after #10. On the upside, RC is showing a strong improvement that was consistent with how i've been doing in drilling. I think i'm finally getting the hang of that section, and may even aim to go for less of on the next PT. In general pleased as it's my second time in the 170s on PTs, but overall upset despite that this was a sign that things are much brighter.

Well, back to the drilling board.

EDIT: Upon further review, i missed some GIMMIES in the second LR section. UGH.

Just took PT 59. -2 on logic games... sigh... disgraceful with how easy that damn section was.

I went -5 on the second LR section, I can see how many of the questions could have tripped people up though.

uuggghh.
PT 61 today. First time the test has made we want to cry in awhile~ anyone else find this one kind've brutal?
I did better than how I felt I was doing, but ran out of time on games (1 q left, so not by a crazy amount, but way too close for comfort). I guess I know where I need to focus...

Edit: Wow, also did better than originally posted, 'cause I can't count. Thank goodness basic arithmetic doesn't show up too much on this thing.

LR1 -2
LR2 -1
RC -1
LG - 4
Raw: 93/101 ~ 173

With BR:
LR1 -1
LR2 -1
RC -1
LG -1
Raw: 97/101 ~ 178

>:/

Really hoping December has a generous curve (again)!

Took my second diagnostic with my Testmasters class yesterday. I get home, go to my computer to grade it, only to realize I inadvertently took Diag 3 instead of 2. Of course, to benefit from the review scheduled for today, I would have had to take Diag 2. So, that was my Saturday night. Needless to say, two tests in one day + class both mornings this weekend has me feeling a little burned out. I'd love to pass out early tonight but then that guilt comes creeping in if I don't attempt some drills...

I'm so mad about that second LR section. I hammered a run because of it.

But i missed 8, 11, and 13. GIMMIES. I'm so f-ing pissed. I could have a -5 on that section easily if i didnt' get so careless and my score would have been a season best 172. I felt so smooth on the first LR section too.

Edit: also, i thought i had qwerty in the bag lolnope

most cases i try to avoid writing it out because it takes time that I find better suited somewhere else. But if its a very formal logic/conditional heavily stimulus then I will jot stuff down to get the flow down.

Oh, that really sucks:( I'm taking Diag 2 on Wednesday, for TM as well.. how are you liking their course organisation? I assume you're taking the in-class course, since you had class this wknd? I hope everything works out for you!

i should do this. I know i've like said this 100 times, but i literally blew the roof off my public library where I took the exam. Maybe i'm being irrational but when I see points that I left on the board i throw fits like a little child.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
