This may be a little late, but I just started using Blind Review. For the people who've been using it, quick question: I can totally see how effective it can be with LR, but is it as effective for RC?

seriously, and the wait will probably be longer if the into jan trend continues. dec 2011 was a nightmare, over a goddamn month....i remember it all too well...

Officially checking in. Got 166 on October 2013 up from 163 a year before. December will be my third and final time (hopefully) taking the LSAT. I do have one salient piece of advice: Do not underestimate the importance of rest and serenity going in to the test. When I took October, I was operating on supreme anxiety and had not slept for over 30 hours (which stemmed from the anxiety). Two weeks before December 7th, if not earlier, I suggest you all start going to sleep and waking up at adjusted times to mimic test day situation. That way, you will know that anxiety did not affect you negatively.

i can attest to this. i was under maximum anxiety and under little sleep as well. i panicked throughout the exam and did things that i normally wouldnt do like double check LG questions...

i kept thinking about previous sections and let it hinder the present section.

serenity is the key word here.

i used a modified version of BR for RC when i was prepping for oct and ended up with -0 rc. before checking my answers, i would quickly skim through the passage and redo the questions in my head, spending 2-3 minutes on the really tricky ones and trying to spot the textual evidence for the AC i chose. i found it quite helpful.
Seeing as how RC has been my bane twice now, I am definitely going to have to give this a shot.

Hit 170 on Oct, but REALLY think I can do much better (PTs in the mid 170s). Will be taking in Dec.

Are you all planning to submit your apps in November-December, before the December score comes out?

I am torn between a)submitting my apps and writing a letter to hold their decision or b)submitting everything as soon as the Dec score comes out in January.

I feel as though it will be more advantageous to submit the app early, but my Oct. score will put me in the lower 25th percentile of the applicant range.

Any thoughts/advice?

I am so determined to get 175+ on the December test. I choked on Logical Reasoning and I'm so irritated with myself for it. We've got this, retakers!

I got a 168 in October but I was PTing in the 170-171 range. Any chance with just the LSAT trainer and some more PTs I can get into the 170s?

honestly, it was a function of familiarity. the more i pt'd, the better at lr i got. my oct score was definitely in the low range of my lr scores, i usually go -0 to -2 combined lr on pts.

yep, same situation. i am so disappointed in myself. my last 3 pts before oct were all 180s, and i just KNEW coming out of oct that i hadn't done even close to my best :(
Straight 180s? That's amazing. I knew something was off coming out of the test, too. You'll kill it in December, though, and do that on the real thing!

Bee i'm in the same situation. I got a combined -8 on LR (-5 on LR1). I've never PTed so low so Idk what happened for Oct.

lol yep. what people say about a 5 point drop on test day is really true. 175 pt avg - 5 = my october score. hopefully ill be able to avoid the extreme anxiety the second time around.

yeah :( just gotta nut up and keep moving.
I don't know where your misses came, but I think it was nerves for me because LR1 was pretty close to the beginning of the test for me. Especially after I thought I bombed LG (-2). RC was section 5 for me and I managed to pull off a miraculous -0.

I'm not sure what to prep now since I don't think I have any issues with any particular sections. I'm thinking just PT until Dec.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
