Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
Hi guys, newbie here. Took October LSAT but knew I could raise score with some more prep so retaking in December
Quick question about drilling (as stupid as it may be) --
If I'm drilling a few sections of LR (or RC), when would you recommend that I grade/blind review? I'm tempted to do the go-over after finishing each section (since I'm impatient and also don't want to be repeating stupid mistakes), but I wasn't sure if that would be effective or not...
Thanks, and good luck to everyone!

Personally, if I drill a section I blind review it once it's complete. I like to review it while it's 'fresh' in my mind, that way if I make a mistake it's easier to know what I was thinking.
Just my opinion, I'm open to hear what others do

35 minutes, I'm a slow reader I would never be able to do a section in 25 minutes unless it's LGdosto5 wrote:Armed are you and tea using 35 minute sections on retakes? I've been doing 25 but now I'm wondering if it might be better to just do full 35 and really perfect the basics as opposed to just going for brute speed (which seems to be fine thus far). Though I've yet to get a perfect RC section I don't know how you two do it.mindarmed wrote:PMT retake pt 53:

it's been okay, I mean i'm not big on methods, I kinda just read and let my mind go. I'll probably dive deeper this weekend.dosto5 wrote:How's the trainer been for RC, honestly? thanks.mindarmed wrote:35 minutes, I'm a slow reader I would never be able to do a section in 25 minutes unless it's LGdosto5 wrote:Armed are you and tea using 35 minute sections on retakes? On a completely different note, this may also be a pretty dumb question, but does the certifying statement have to be written in cursive?
I'm pretty sure the instructions didn't mention cursive explicitly, but I know some people were freaking about it so I just wanted to make sure... (Yeah, I didn't write in cursive either. Oops...)

Write the statement implies cursive. If it wanted you to print, it would have asked you to do so. HTHcheme2014 wrote:On a completely different note, this may also be a pretty dumb question, but does the certifying statement have to be written in cursive?

People asked at my test in October. The proctor said however you would normally write. I'm a printer, myself, but there were no problems getting my June score on time.

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
When I took December last year, we took about 20 minutes trying to write cursive. Proctor said to do it after everyone asked. Jeez, last time I wrote cursive was like second grade.Actingmeg1 wrote:People asked at my test in October. The proctor said however you would normally write. Ack I never knew that. (Pulling the I'm-a-fob card lol.) Thanks, guys!
Should I just use cursive for December, then, or would it be better to stick with the "normal" handwriting I used in October? (I'm personally okay with cursive; just don't want any delays or trouble with LSAC )

I doubt it matters. I guess you should try cursive if you can. If you can't, just do your best.cheme2014 wrote:Ack I never knew that. (Pulling the I'm-a-fob card lol.) Thanks, guys!

PT 55 with 25 minute sections since I took it a while back (Anyone have ideas on making PT retakes harder besides shortening the time? Don't see what else there could be...)

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
I've heard taking back to back or extra experimental sections help. Make sure you are still mixing up the ones you're actually scoring though. If you're straight PTing and drilling I have a schedule I made for day by day for PTs 1-69 with some Cambridge drillsdasani13 wrote:I'm in desperate need for some advice. I'm PTing in the low 160s and it's been like a month and a half and I can't get to the mid/high-160s. I've drilled SO much LR but I still get about 5 wrong per section. However, when I'm doing blind review or just drilling level 4 LR questions, I get about 90% of the questions right. I'd say I have a pretty decent grasp of question types and how to approach them so the problem seems to be when I'm actually taking the test-- I just can't execute. Any suggestions/recs from personal experience? I'm thinking of taking like a week of PTing, like 5 tests in a row (one per day) to see if it helps with my stamina. Most PTs I've taken have been about a week apart. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
Hi Everyone,
I've posted on TLS before, but never on this thread. I'm taking in December and want to join this study group.
Sorry, but I couldn't find a link to the overall purpose/tasks of the group. Can someone report a link or explain so I'm not missing anything and get the most out of this?

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
I've been saving my experimental sections of PTs so I can practice them as full sections for drilling purposes. Does anyone else do that, or are the experimental sections not representative enough?

Taking PT45 today and PT 46 Sunday. It was a nice dabbling in the 60's for the last 2 but gotta keep some of them fresh for November, ya know?
Plan on doing a jog, a couple question type drills (like 2 to 3 of nec assump, most supports, and must be true), and then hit the test.

PT 52 today (without experimental):
LR1: -2
LG: 0
LR2: -4
RC: -1
Score: 173
This is a massive improvement for me, but I can't help but feel I got lucky on RC. Will be reviewing later.
