PT 43, Section 3, #23

Postby Hat Trick » Tue Jul 16, 2013 5:35 pm

Hi all. Long time lurker, first time poster.

Can somebody please explain why the second sentence is the conclusion of the argument? I spent a few minutes going back and forth between A and D, but it turns out the correct answer is B.

Thanks in advance.

Conclusion: "The reason for this is probably a metabolic quirk of the brain"

Support: Many hormones can produce glucose...

a) This is the phenomenon that the conclusion wants to explain
b) This is the credited response. It explains why many different hormones can raise blood glucose
c) Explanation of the conclusion.
d) Explains the significance of the sentence that starts with "To see this"
e) Helps explain the conclusion
