I have a question regarding the June exam in general.

Can June test be used for current acceptance cycle?

I took the LSAT last June, scored a 166, and was satisfied enough with my score to decide to not retake, and apply in the fall for this coming fall matriculation.

Are there tangible benefits to this strategy? Or am I grasping at thin air?

If a higher score in June 2014 has a chance of netting me $$ or acceptance off a WL for August 14, I would have to retake.

Does anyone know SOP when it comes to this situation?

Thanks in advance
Are you on waitlists now? I would say that certainly money CAN be in play as can acceptances off the waitlists.

Quick Q. I have LSAT LG bible, and workbook. Do these two go hand in hand? I started off reading the bible and it doesn't say anything about the workbook. Workbook after I read the whole bible? Thanks.

It's up to you, but I wouldn't bother with the workbooks.

I bought them all and I never used them. I'm under the impression that they are useless. You can decide for yourself though.

Feeling good. Worked in the Trainer today and finished up the first Logical Reasoning section and got 8/8 of the questions right.

Seriously, it is a great book! I can already see that I'm getting better at the LSAT and I'm only 130 pages in! Was extremely doubting myself and my ability to get a 170+ (heck improve to a 160, even), but hopefully making progress.

We can do this!

Hey guys,

I revised my PT schedule a bit, after Jaylawyer brought up the concern with doing old (i.e., pre-comparative RC) PTs just a few weeks before test day. I realized he was right, so I did my best to find a compromise between front-loading and back-loading new PTs. For anyone who's wondering, the purpose of front-loading new PTs, rather than just doing them in chronological order, is so that you become acclimated to these new tests early enough to form the appropriate skills and habits. It's far more difficult to "adjust" once your habits have been set in stone. Anyway, here's my new schedule. (Old tests are marked with a `) Let me know if anyone wants to join me with any of these tests and do a group review.

Hey everyone,

I kinda feel a bit short in the beginning of this week, I had a massive amount of school work, and I had to put my LSAT Prep Work on hold till this weekend. Its Friday night and I am fully bound to the books. I am waiting for my copy of the LSAT Trainer to arrive in the mail, so I don't have much to go with on LR Prep besides the Powerscore Bible (which is certainly sufficient). I decided not to take the Kaplan PT tomorrow at my school, I haven't seen the results in my current PT's at home to feel confident enough to test myself again. I am completely changing my game plan, and thinking about the LSAT, even though I am a month into my Prep work I am not satisfied with my current knowledge of the test. The definition of insanity is to repeat the same actions, and expect different results, I maybe a lot of things but not insane haha. Just a word of advice to everyone out there like myself, don't feel discouraged when you here people on TLS getting 160 or higher PT Scores, we are still very far off from Test Day, and with motivation we can accomplish anything. As Mike the LSAT Trainer stresses the LSAT is an extremely learned test, memorization, and standard studying need not apply. Confidence, understanding the nature of the LSAT, and repetition of effective tactics (not bad habits) will allow anyone to achieve the coveted 180 LSAT Score. I felt the need to put this out there, words of inspiration. I will continue to post my progress to encourage anyone not feeling like they're going BOSS this test, we got it. As Quoted by Socrates, "To Find Yourself, Think for Yourself". Thats what the LSAT is all about, even the best tutors in the world won't get you the 180, find yourself, and conquer the LSAT................

Does anyone know where I can get a list of LR Sections that I can gradually work on by Question Type, this would be an immense help.

You can filter by LR on our PrepTest classifications page to see the question types for any particular section.

Does anyone else feel like this is a much more intense emotional roller coaster than they thought before beginning the studying process?

Some days I feel like I am going to be a supreme court justice. Other days I feel like I am not even worthy to go to Cooley. I will say that these feelings are usually correlated with a lack of fruitful sleep the night before and a lackluster workout the morning of. I just feel like about once a week I have a really bad day. Just goes to show I need some time off every few days in which I don't even think about the LSAT for a whole night or something.

Definitely. Some days I'm like "Damn, I'm the shit. Bitches wish they were me." And then there's those days where drills don't go so well or I make a really stupid mistake and I'm like "I should reschedule for September..."

I'm actually kind of freaking out currently. I haven't had a chance to work on LSAT stuff very much the last couple weeks. I feel so behind!!! I'm dealing with a bunch of health stuff and it's like taking over my life. :/ Really not sure if I should just reschedule for sept now or wait until may to decide.
I lol'd. Just got done with Level 4 principle Identify set. Got 21 done in 35 minutes. I will take that as a decent sign! Now let's see if I actually get these RIGHT haha. Here's to the next 3 hours of blind review and explanation writing! Cheers.

agreed. it's just daunting to know that one test can change the course of our lives.

and thanks man for emphasizing reviewing. i've been using it while studying and i'm getting a lot more questions right in LR. esp since im more aware of the mistakes im making

Hey all!

I realized that my biggest weakness are the logic games, therefore i am drilling (already bought questions arranged by type/difficulty from prep test 1-38 on Cambridge, along with 39-70) LG for the next month or so, this way i will have LG down, and a huge amount wrong, gone. (i went -18 on games my first time, and the only ones i knew how to do, were the elimination questions, got 1 lucky guess).

I'm thinking of completely forsaking LR/RC until i get LG down, is this a sound decision? Once i get LG down, ill focus on LR (my next worst section) with a couple of games thrown in to make sure im still sharp, and then RC (went -6 on my diagnostic, pretty pleased with that) with LR and LG thrown in as well.

Additionally, i want to take another Diagnostic on the first of march, then one on the first of April. After April im cutting back my hours to only Sundays, which gives me Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays completely free... and then ill prob be taking a prep test every other week. (along with blind review of each question).

How feasible/solid does this plan sound?

Hey all,

If anyone is interested in how our February went join us in the wait thread. Overall, the general census is that the test was pretty difficult, so study hard! :|

Don't fret, Walt. Keep in mind that you were doing these questions WAY faster than you would need to in a real section. You'll never have a section full of Level 4 questions. You might see 5 or 6 of them, and if you move through the easy questions fast enough, you will have plenty of time to give the tough ones the attention they deserve.

it's not that exactly. It is not the time I am worried about. I think I have a giant gap in my understanding of Principle questions, a giant gap. I need to address this. I was feeling so good about sufficient assumptions and the flaws that I just got done drilling. I was really feeling like I was making headway.

Posted this in a separate forum, hoping to get some responses here.

Here's the situation:
LR: For me this is a joke, typically go -1,-2 on timed sections.
LG: Has been a work in progress. Accuracy is high, but timing is still an issue.
RC: I never took a cold diagnostic and figured it would be in my best interest to save RC for last since I did well on the verbal section of the SAT. Wow, do I regret that decision. I took my first timed RC section (June 2007) and got -11. I didn't necessarily find the questions hard, rather it was timing that was a major issue. Had to guess on around 4 questions, and left 1 blank. To make matters even worse, I heard this section was unusually easy. What did everyone here get on their first timed RC section? How should I proceed from here? I'm really nervous right now, and thinking about pushing off the LSAT to September to work on RC. Lesson Learned: DON'T SAVE RC FOR LAST SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU"VE BEEN READING YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. Do not underestimate this section..

Hey friends!

I just finished grading PT 41, which I took this morning. I scored a 166 timed (174 blind review). Here is the breakdown:

LR: -4 (-1 BR)
LG: -4 (-1 BR)
LR: -4 (-3 BR)
RC: -4 (-3 BR)

Last week I went -10 on RC and -2/-3 everywhere else, so I drilled RC all week and reread the Trainer sections. I'm thrilled to see an improvement there, but I'm worried about the decline in the other sections. I did a little bit of LR/LG drilling this week, but evidently not enough. Here's what happened in LG: I knew the circular game was coming, so I flew through the first three in 20:00 flat, but I made a couple of dumb mistakes. I came out of the circular game feeling like I destroyed it, but it turns out that I misdiagrammed one of the rules. Fortunately, it only affected 2 questions, but that was a pretty lucky break. Finished the section in 32:00, but didn't really make use of the remaining time. I'm sure I would have caught my errors if I had, but I felt too confident. So, lesson: slow down on LG, and always double-check the diagrams to make sure they reflect the language of the rules.

Anyway, looks like I'll be targeting my weaknesses again next week, but I have to drill all three sections equally. Looking forward to reviewing tomorrow.

Best wishes to everyone!
