1. Read Manhattan LG and the Powerscore bible.

2. Drill, baby, drill.

3. Make sure to refer back to the rules frequently. Missing questions or getting stuck on a question because you forgot about a simple initial rule sucks.

1. Do the books, LGB, MLG, and BPLG

2. Do a hypo before moving into the questions to reinforce the rules, during this time look for inferences, maybe diagram another hypo if you see an opportunity to frame

3. Remember, there is ONLY ONE RIGHT ANSWER

As of right now the only thing I'm worry free of come June is LG. I consistently miss 0-1 and finish well under teh 35 minute mark.

How I did it: 3-4 four weeks of constant LG drilling. I divided up PT's 7-30 LG section by game type (linear, adv. linear, grouping, pure sequencing, etc) making 3 copies of each game. Still each game, if you get them all right under 8:45 your done with that game. If not - watch 7sage and see where you went and repeat that game a week later (or a few days at teh least). I probably did a total of 60-70 games including retakes of ones I messed up on. Learn the inferences and soon you'll be cruising on autopilot like me.

Best of luck

Squintz, I'm getting killed by the lg and have from now until the test to do nothing but study. When you say you drilled for 3-4 weeks using that method, were you already decent when you started out or did you go from performing poorly to mastering the section? I don't know if I have enough time to master them. I typically miss about ten on the section but somehow went -6 on my last pt.

I used this method after spending several months reading Powerscores LGB. I was definitely a lot slower when I first started but your goal is to learn the material. Take as much time as you need to only miss 0 or 1. If it took me 13 minutes to do a game and even if I still got them all right - I would redo it until i got it done under 8:45. Its all about learning the material.

Every answer can be proved why it is right, and for me I'm able to prove each and every single answer under 35 minutes. You need a framework though, so if you haven't read Manhattan or Powerscores LG material - I suggest you do that (literally can read it in a week)

If your missing 10, your better off slowing down and only doing 3 out of the 4 possible games and getting them all right, that way your only missing 5-7.

This is my approach and it worked for me - I can sit here all day and tell you what to do but your going to have to find the method that works for you. Just use advice as a framework for your future studies.

Good luck and God Speed.

Three of the main points I teach

Get very good at using your prior work, write clearly and cross off scenarios that don't work.
Do the questions in the right order
Get faster at games one and two. Turning to game four with 7-8 min left often ends in disaster and is unneccesary.

Use your prior work bro, once you get the hypo question of every game..figure out the one or two combinations or if its a chain figure out the chain and its contrapositive. Instant -0 on LG

Wrote this one the October study thread...

I think there are just 3 really important things:

1. Look at a bunch of different strategies/methods, but...
2. ...be flexible and inventive; create the system that works best for you.
3. Drill. a lot.

I'm curious if the reason for spreading out the first two times roughly by two weeks is so there is a higher probability that we won't remember specific rules/inferences/diagrams of the game? Or were there other reasons behind this tip?

Thanks.

1. Read Manhattan or PS Logic Game guide
2. Drill drill drill drill by type. Repeat the games as well and if you are stuck watch videos.Notate key trends that you see evident in your prep.
3. Start taking timed sections once you feel comfortable with the material. Determine why you are making the mistakes and try to correct it . For me its usually due to an incorrect diagram I made for that one specific question (98.99% of the time) rest are usually just because I forgot to read a very key ,specific detail of the question.

1. Spend sufficient time diagramming & making inferences
2. Make lots of hypos and use your prior work to help you on future questions (by circling all working hypos, and crossing out the mistaken ones)
3. Practice every single game in existence multiple times until you get a feel for how they try and fool you

1. Realize, right down to the core of your being, that between the rules and any local conditions on a question, you have what you need to answer that question.
It is never a matter of just blindly hypo-ing through answer choices to see which one is right.

2. Use your prior work.

3. Drill until you can't drill no mo'.
