before LRB and LGB I didn't really study and just took some PT's and averaged about 173-4.

BUT I don't feel as though I'm any better at the sections. I mean I know how to diagram some LGs now but I still struggle with time and have to guess on 1 or 2 questions on the last game. Regarding LR, there are still some questions where I think wtf am I reading and end up choosing one answer from two attractive answers--these questions have gone my way but they can easily not on test day.

RC is w.e, same as it's always been

I'm a month away from the June test now. I don't think I have the time to review each PT or to do some guides' suggestions of doing the LRs and LGs by type. (I don't think I know how to review either--when I get a question wrong on LR, I look at the answer key and eventually realize something like "oh, the conclusion's negativity doesn't mean it's not parallel")

But I also don't feel like I'm learning much from my mistakes. Before and after the bibles, for most of my wrong answers I just think "oops."

Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do this last month? Just keep taking PT's, reread the bibles every now and then, and pray?

Do LR and LG by type. You obviously have a handle on the material, but you are relying on your intuition/test taking skills for those last few LG and LR. Don't leave those up to chance.

I outperformed my PTs with respect to LR/LG on test day but had I done LR/LG by type, I wouldn't have been so uncertain about my ability to go -1 or 0 on each section.

If you're already getting a 177+, what are you planning on focusing on for the next month? Why not do LR/LG by type?

Maybe not! But 0 PTs worth of sorted questions is definitely not enough.

you gotta take in June? PT'ing like that now means you can wait until OCT and probably feel good about a 179 or 180.

I just took another one with an eye on the timer and got an 180. 1x LR, nothing anywhere else, and I finished LG on time. The last 3 I've taken were all June administrations because I've heard the June one has a tougher curve. The most recent one I took was 98 for 180, 93 for 175. I think I got a 93 on the test I got a 173 on.

I'm aiming for a 175; will my band narrow with more PTs? I think my raw score band is pretty stable--93 to 96. The divergent scores are just a function of the conversion now.

well, if i were you i would probably use what little time i had left and just do the last 8 PT's twice in a row lol. then youre like walking into the test with the taste in your mouth.

meadow201 wrote:ok the first 3 PT's were all in the teens (like 15 16 etc)

I've taken 2 other ones in the mid30s, and scored 173 on one and 176 on the other, as usual having to guess on 1-2 questions on the LG section. Should I be worried about this decline?

So I've taken 5 in 4 days. Is the CR strategy NOT to continue like this? I'm amenable to drilling by type but I don't have many PT's in the 50s so 41-50 might be as recent as it gets for me, and if I do them by type I won't have the satisfaction (or the disappointment) of having a score to represent my overall performance

You need to be using way newer PTs. Older tests are easier.
