10-15 point boost in a month?

Postby T4Rockstar » Wed May 01, 2013 5:20 pm

Okay... So I didn't study for the LSAT and took it cold. I ended up guessing for almost the entire logic section. I have to go to law school this year. No choice whatsoever. I originally scored a 152. A school just notified me that they will accept the June test even though I've already been rejected. I can essentially update them and get a second chance of consideration. I can probably get into this school with a five point jump. I basically need an LSAT logic boot camp. Suggestions.... GO!

Why do you have to go? Is there a gun to your head? Please don't say personal/family reasons because I can't think of one that would force anyone to go to law school.

My education is being financed. The financiers refuse to wait another year. Trust me, I've tried to postpone it. No dice.

So you want to waste your time for free for the next 3 years? You don't need a financier for that brotha.

..what's with all these threads?

This does not sound like something you are taking seriously considering you're only willing to improve a cold take with five weeks of study. That's a shame because you are selling yourself way short here.

But to answer your question: if you're only getting six right in the whole section (did you mean LR or LG?), there is definitely room for improvement. The single best thing you can do for your score right now is blast through the Manhattan LSAT LG Guide and start doing past LG sections.

If you got a 152 and did that poorly on LG, you must have done the other sections halfway decent. So I wouldn't focus too much on those. Probably do a little review on LR. But you should spent most of your time perfecting LG because they are the easiest to improve on. Get as many official tests as you can and just mainly do the LG sections. Do probably only about 10 or so full-length tests. You should be able to improve your LG to where you can completely do 3 games and then randomly guess the last one, so that's about 18 or 19 correct answers. And if you're able to add 2 or 3 correct answers on the other sections, then that will get you around 160.

Okay... Yea... It is the logic games. I have a month, but no job. Which basically means I can put 10+ hours a day into this. So Manhattan Logic Games? You recommend just drilling the practice tests or trying to adopt their weird methods of drawing out charts and what not?

Go get the LG Bible and buy every LG packet from Cambridge.

regrettable situation, but -1/0 on LG is achievable within a month. I'd advise in line with the other posters: PS, Manhattan, DRILL. I'd also spend a little time going through manhattan LR and RC just to see if you can pick anything up really quick. Obviously the biggest returns come on the front end of studying (and in LG) but if there's a strategy or two that could pick you up even 1 point it'd be worth a couple hours/dollars to get it. No time to drill either though, again, very unfortunate situation.
