I have the time to fully dedicate the next five months to test prep. How should I study every day? Which books? I already have the LSAC prep book and some practice tests. Thanks!

Really, whats wrong with this kid? Apparently all he does is spend his time talking about pencils and distributing unwarranted advice. Honestly Max has the right idea, drill by type until you get comfortable with the material and then work on timing issues and slowly work your way into the more recent PTs and don't forget to spend a couple days to review each one. You should have no problem doing this in a 5 month span, I followed a similar study schedule and scored into the 170s. Good luck with everything

^These are pretty good. Study plans are great to help get your studying started, but I doubt you'll stick to the listed schedule for long, since you'll soon realize on your own how to approach your studying in the paticular way most effective for you.

Powerscore and Manhatten LSAT tend to be the most recommended in terms of guide books.

Whether 5 months is not enough time depends on sooo many factors... the amount of free time you will have, how productive you are, what your cold PT score was, how quickly you learn, etc. However, I think 5 months is a good base to start with, and you'll quickly realise whether you need more or less time to get the score you want once you get into the thick of things.

you need at least 7 months to prepare; anything less is TTT

so it depends on your goals and which law school you want to go to. AND whether you want to have a jerb after you graduate.

Had 9 weeks of laser-focused prep time. 173 first time out. By 9 weeks, I mean that 10 weeks prior to taking the December test I had not seen a single LSAT question in the history of my life. There are plans littered on these forums that can work wonders if you attack deliberately.

Do you have some kind of source for that, or are you just taking a stab at what you believe the percentage probably is? Genuine question, not snark.

Sounds like he's just making it up. I was an LSAT teacher and tutor and from my experience: if a person was really focused, 3-4 months seemed like plenty of time for most people. If a person was half-assing it, more time might have been necessary.

This has been my experience as well.

He says the same thing in every thread about study time; it's entirely unwarranted..

Passing up the October test would put you in a bad spot for the cycle too. Five months of devoted study is a lot of time.

You need to get some more materials.

For 5 months, you should acquire either or both of the set of 3 Manhattan Prep books, or PS Bibles.
You should also get PTs 40-68ish for timed PTs.

And then the Cambridge packets by type for the tests up to 39.
