How do YOU concentrate/focus?

It is dangerous, but sometimes I zone out during short LR stimulus and don't even get me started on reading comp, I'll be surprised if i can get passed the first paragraph while understanding it. I find myself having to reread and reread, I rarely ever go through a LR stimulus once and this is becoming a big problem. No, I do not know if i have ADHD or anything of that sort because i've never been tested for it.

I had/have similar issues with concentration. I don't have ADD or take any medicines.

What I do-

1) Notate RC. You should not be reading and re-reading, you should be reading and underlining. It helps if you need to re-read the paragraph, helps you stay focused. Sometimes I will even write out a sentence next to a paragraph to summarize.

2) Personalize LR arguments. Don't think in the abstract but rather pretend like you are making the argument. Helps as well.

3) Eat healthy. Cut out excess sugar. Take brain food (walnuts, almonds, acai supplements).

4) Get into a normal sleep schedule. No more going to sleep at 4 and wake up at 930.

5) Exercise!!!

6) Take PT's and study at the same time each day. This helps, once you get into a pattern. Preferably start PT's at 12:30 if you are planning on taking June.

7) There's a thread a few below on this forum about meditation. I don't really meditate much, honestly, but I have heard it works really well in helping with concentration.

I tend to do this on PTs, but always wondered if we are allowed to do this on test day? Or do we have to use the scratch paper?
There is no scratch paper...

I believe that is for people to outline their essay topics. Regardless, you're not allowed to have your test open to any section other than the section being tested at the time (no going forward or back), and you aren't allowed scratch paper as was mentioned. The only scratch space you'll have is on the test itself, on the margins of the passage for RC.

Diet, sleep, and exercise are overlooked far too often. In order for your mind to be in top form, your body must be, too.

You are permitted to write on the exams, so yes you can notate RC passages come test day (unless there's some bizarre format change where they give out the passages on .1 margins lol)

On the contrary, doing so "before hand" could also prevent future distractions as well haha

Another great way to focus or concentrate would be studying in a place where attractive/legal age people of the opposite sex or whichever gender you prefer are almost or completely nonexistent (ie: the dump, Home Depot, your local junior high school cafeteria, etc).
