I bring mine presharpened. My sharpener is kind of TTT, I got it at Target.
I like the Dux Alvin inkwell sharpener.

It should be a sign of how far down the rabbit hole you dweebs have travelled that the fountain pen enthusiast is looking down on you.

Yes, I have tried these, but I was not impressed. The lead was not as smooth as either the Uni-ball Hi-Uni or the Tombow Mono. Of course neither of the pencils I mentioned I erasers but the erase on the Staedtler Rally Graphite was at best OK, but not as good as top quality bar erasers, such as Pilot Foam Or Uni-Ball Boxy erasers.

I had a dream that in my backpack I had a Staedtler Rally Graphite #2 Pencil. I reached to get it and once I was about to write with it, I woke up. ..

This thread revealed the world of the Black Ticons and the Mirado Warriors to me. Both of which are superior to the TTT pencils that I used on my previous two LSATs.

If you cannot get the perfect edge on your pencil, I highly recommend giving this a read:

Sharp and to the point April 19, 2012
By J. Ryan Pedersen
Format:Hardcover
My pencils were always so embarrassingly dull that I had to start using pens. I failed my first year of University because I couldn't properly colour in the bubble on standardized tests. David Rees' amazing new book has literally turned my life around. Now if someone would tell me how to recondition the dried out erasers...

I abandoned black Ticonderogas for Black Mirados. Sharpening black Ticonderogas is a relative nightmare.

Sharpening during the test is 120. Have five to seven pencils pre-sharpened. One for the statement that you have to write out, one for each section, and one for the writing sample.

. I really like the Ticonderogas for the Logic Games. I think I will need one for each game. I'm sure that I will burn through at least 10 Black Warriors in both LR sections, and at least 4 Triconderogas for the RC section. I don't know what the experimental section will be, so I'll have to bring at least four more of each type for that.

As to the writing section, I'm considering buying the Dixon Orioles for that. I am sure that I will go through a few of those for the sample.

So my tally is:

14 Black Warriors
8 Ticonderogas
8 Triconderogas
4 Orioles

All of these would be presharpened of course. What does TLS think?

Uh, yeah; I do most of my sharpening during prepping. I use the same pencils as test day.

I think you can cut each by half. That's way too many pencils. I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. I personally would only bring around 7-10 pencils.

I wonder why LSAT prep companies don't recommend pencil type. IT could be very useful to LSAT takers.

Their logic games book is great though. Definitely filled in some gaps that I didn't learn from Powerscore. I'm going to write a pretty good review after I finish it. But yeah, they should really give better pencil recommendations.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
