Any ideas on how I can display an image in the text box? For some reason the [img] isn't working for me. Do I need to reach a post threshold?

Interesting, I've never had the issues on thin paper with my Staedtler's. Maybe its the way I erase.

Same here. I don't use the corners to erase. I use the edges in a sweeping motion. That way, the erasing power is uniformly distributed over a larger surface area, thereby reducing paper strain.Nonconsecutive wrote:Interesting, I've never had the issues on thin paper with my Staedtler's. I PT with my Ticons today for the first time. I do not think I will be using them come test day. The eraser is bad, and they broke when sharpening and got dull fast.

THANK YOU. Seriously, I don't understand how it takes anyone more than a couple uses to notice these things. The sharpening thing drove me INSANE. And even when you would manage to get it sharpened to a nice point (on the 18th try with the 47th sharpener), the point would just up and fall out two seconds after. Mine are from Mexico, which I thought was preferable.

I owned many, many packs before I realized there were better pencils out there. I used them for years.bee wrote:my black ticons are NOTHING like that O__O the eraser is soo good, very smooth and effective, and the points last whole sections for me, and i press really hard on the paper. did you buy them online or in person? i've heard that the ones you get online are manufactured in a different place but idk *shrug*TheMostDangerousLG wrote:THANK YOU. It's about raising your standards. The eraser is not sooo good, the points are not particularly smooth, and the only points they hold are not particularly sharp (and any sharp point either wears down immediately, or falls out). Once you try better pencils, you will not be able to stand the black Ticonderoga, or if you can, then you are probably someone who just can't discern differences between pencils anyway, and you might as well use the ones sent out by John Marshall Law School with mints and hand sanitizer.
Come to my level.

Seriously, Ticonderoga/Mirados pale in comparison.

I might use the Ticons for the writing sample. They do write smoothly and are comfortable.

I have a beagle puppy that has chewed up and destroyed the erasers of all my pencils, except one. This one customized pencil will be my primary utensil test-day.

EMERGENCY
My Black TriConderogas came in the mail, but I can't sharpen them with a regular electric pencil sharpener- they are too big. Do the little manual ones work okay for these, or must I invest in a T14 sharpener?

Yeah, the 3 sided pencil doesn't fit into the sharpener at work. Oh well. Using a little manual one, but it's pretty TTT.bee wrote:...they dont fit into your regular pencil sharpener?! thats bizarre, they fit in all of mine, including the little manual ones.wtrcoins3 wrote:EMERGENCY

Re: What #2 Pencil Should I use?
Pencil sharpeners hate black Ticonderogas, and to use a T14 sharpener on one would be to ignore their long and dark history, which would surely earn you bad pencil karma for test day.wtrcoins3 wrote:EMERGENCY

I DID NOT realize that TRICons were different than TICons. This adds an entire new dimension.
I agree with Steel, they are REALLY comfy.
