is it common that the same exact stimulus is repeated across several preptests?

After doing drills from kaplan mastery, i feel that I have seen the same stimulus appear over 4 times with a different question stem each time. Am I seeing a case of repeated stimulus, or am I seeing a case where there is just one stimulus on one preptest but with 2 questions following it?

Ya I know what you're talking about. I feel I saw repeated stimuli or ones that are really similar over the PTs. It's not surprising though, there are only so many subjects to write about and the majority of same question type problems have the same structure.

One thing to take away from repeated stimuli with different question stems.

This same application can be used on other LR questions you come across. For example, After answering/reviewing an Assumption question, why not practice by prephrasing an answer that would be correct if the question type was a Strengthen, Weaken, or Must be True question, etc.

Very useful in understanding and identifying the differences of specific question types and their answers. And can just be a helpful reviewing method in general.

some older tests had one stimulus + 2 questions
so when you are prepping, you see 2 questions separately
one question would be under parallel flaw, another would be under main point

As the poster above pointed out, questions with the same stimulus were originally presented together in pairs on the same test. When drilling, you will bump into repeated stimuli since the associated questions were typically of two different types. Dual questions haven't shown up on a scored section of a released test since PrepTest 39 (December 2002).
