167-179, Preptest 17 Difficulty?

Postby Pneumonia » Fri Mar 01, 2013 5:24 pm

I've been prepping for the June LSAT since early January and until today hadn't gotten above a 167 on any of my PT's. I've only taken 7 other PT's before this one, both old and recent. Today I took PT 17 under strictly timed conditions (I use the Simugator DVD), with an experimental section, answer sheet etc. I only missed 4 for a scaled score of 179.

Is there something different about test 17? It's not in the first 10 book, is that because it's easier than the rest? Obviously I will maintain my prep schedule until June, but my score seems like such an anomaly that I was wondering if there were any factors that contributed to 17 being an easier test.

Between my last test (PT 53, two weeks ago) I've implemented Pithypike's plan for LG, can it be true that it really helped me this much or is there something I'm missing?

Best way to actually know... take another PT (preferably a more recent one). One test is not enough to draw anything from IMO

PTing from 30 and forward is best. 1-29 are mostly good for drilling and using extra RC/LR as extra sections during 5 section practice sessions.

Either way though, getting a 179 is a good indication that you're making progress.

Thanks for the advice guys, will focus on later preptests for PT'ing in the future. Also congrats on your cycle MOTM.
