Are PT 7-18 Easier or Harder?

Post by ce255 » Wed Jan 09, 2013 6:59 pm

Hi, right now the PT's I'm using are 7-18 which are the LSATs from the early-mid 90s. Are these harder or easier than current LSATs? I know the LG section has changed in recent times, casting away some of the question types in the 90s... I'm curious, because I obviously am going to use more PTs, but I wonder if 7-18 are accurate enough to show progress in terms of LR and RC

No, they are not accurate representations. The LR seems to have tightened up on the more recent tests. RC has gotten harder. LG have stayed pretty much the same, however, they don't rely as much on inferences on the more recent tests.

Keep studying!

they are probably the most feared series of tests in LSAT history, frequently called "the gantlet of death"

I'm not sure if he's serious or not lol, but if serious, then yes he is implying they are harder

I'm not sure if you're serious or not, but I can believe it. The logic games seem a lot harder.

I'll end the ruse. I made that up. But I did find the earlier tests to be more idiosyncratic and definitely had more WTF moments when reviewing the answers. The later tests seem to be a bit more airtight and slightly easier. This is just off of memory from when I took it almost 2 years ago.

RC was a joke, LR were not as solid and far more logically loose (more interpretation = more wtf? moments), LG was far less solid and restricted, which means far more time consuming...
