Why is June 2007 designated as PT 51.5?

Postby ScottRiqui » Sun Dec 16, 2012 1:18 am

Just idle curiosity, but does anyone know why the June 2007 LSAT is numbered the way it is? Since it was the first released test after #51, why wasn't it #52?

It's because it is the one given out freely by LSAC on their website. It doesn't have an actual number but its date comes between PTs 51 and 52 (which are numbered) and thus it is given the number 51.5.

So LSAC wanted to be able to give one away for free, but didn't want to leave a gap in the "non-free" numbering sequence? That makes sense - thanks.
