Postby lawschool2014hopeful » Sat Dec 01, 2012 12:17 pm

Any gains in R.C or general reading speed?

Sorry I should have clarified,

this.

Edit: I meant using it to read other material and practice reading on it, obviously not filling LSAT material on it.

I know nothing about speed reading, except that it should not be used on the LSAT.

Yea, I tried bringing my laptop into the LSAT, and got so far as typing everything into that box to have it flash the words to me, but then I accidently hit f8 on my mac causing itunes to blast some music, and then I got kicked out

Ehl if you can somehow increase your reading speed with zero loss in comprehension, that's good. Since you knothing about speed reading, I don't think you can determine that

You should know that it is highly unlikely someone can "learn" speed reading without losing the ability to comprehend a LSAT passage. The amount of time allowed for RC does not require speed reading tactics thus leaving very minimal room for it to be beneficial.

And the belief that getting better at the timing of an RC section boils down to reading faster is dangerous advice. That's the opposite of what nearly everyone should do - slow down, comprehend, and get through it once instead of re-reading and searching for answers to questions you should know but skipped over because you were worried about the clock.

So I guess you do know about speed reading?
