Why don't the LSAT writers believe in the use of commas for LR!?

Wait...LR stimuli have commas right? I just checked and saw one. What do you mean here that they don't believe in the use of commas for LR?

I do remember seeing commas in the two LR sections I took earlier.

First day back getting to work. Spent two hours on LR and an hour on LG. I'm much rustier than I thought I'd be after taking a few months off. Oh well. Long four+ months ahead. Grind forth.

For PT15-S4-G3 what I did is setup the game quick, I took 5-10 seconds to ran through No Laws in my mind, and wrote down G1------> J3, G1----->J6 then I jumped into questions.

My trick is that for about 2-3 local questions, I do not eliminate answer choices, I'll take PT15-S4-G3 as example, Q16, you can quickly draw the conclusion that H must be driving on Monday, and for Q17, after you set up G _ J _ _ G, you should be able to infer that one person has to drive on two days due to rule 2, no one can drive on consecutive days.

I will always try to pre-phrase some scenarios and once I find the answer choice, I circle it and move on to the next question.

Getting at it today at the library. Doing my first timed LR and RC sections, plus some untimed Grouping - Matching games. Once, I finish re-reading LGB, it's timed sections, then full PTs.

LR1: -2 (#14 and 23)
RC: -2 (#16 and 24)
LG: -5 (#5, 14, 18, 19, 23)
LR2: -4 (#7, 9, 23, 26)

Relatively happy. Logic Games was almost a disaster, though. I got 5 minutes into one of the Qs before realizing that I skipped a variable from the stimulus and had to start over. After that I was going too fast and made some silly mistakes. I haven't done much LG prep yet (just a handful of practice games, haven't started LGB), so I'm not too worried about it. RC seemed tough, but went really well. Made some incredibly stupid mistakes on LR that I need to iron out with more prep (giving "why" instead of "why not", giving summary when I need assumption/justification, etc.).

Not suggesting that they don't have any, just that many of the stimuli I had been working with at the time seemed like run on sentences. The lack of commas in those made it even more difficult for me to read/understand.

That's not bad at all man. If you hone in on LG and kill it that could've easily been a 172-175 range score.

Missed -2 on one game, -1 on five games, and none on eighteen games. All at or under 8:45... but not as quick as I'd like. My next task is figuring out the similarities between my weaker games (where I missed a Q or took 6:30+).

Spending today reviewing all of my previous mistakes, unsure questions, in preparation for PT 44 tomorrow. Still not exactly sure whether I should drill 1-38 before PTs or during PTs, I'm really just taking PTs at the moment to have a few data points, which I can use along with ones I've taken previously to infer upon my weaknesses. If my raw score tomorrow is below 92, then I'll probably drop PTs for a few weeks and just drill, but I'll make that decision after tomorrow.

What do you guys think, drill then PT, or drill and PT? I see advantages of doing either, but drilling is boring as hell.

Just did PT 14 RC and PT 29 LG.

Finished the RC in 31 minutes, and got three wrong. Finished the LG in 30 minutes and perfectly. I did do one of the LG problems in the MLG two weeks ago, but after a frustrating day yesterday, this made me really happy and more confident in my studying.

Tip (kind of...):

I just read a blog post from LSATBlog and it confirmed something I've always thought was the case: necessary assumption questions = must be true questions. A necessary assumption is something that HAS to be true in order for the argument to hold. So if it helps, and you're better at must be true questions than necessary assumption questions, then you can think of them this way. Here's the blog post

This and make sure to be conscious of the type of assumption question you are presented with. While its not usually an issue for easy assumption questions, the tougher ones tend to offer answer choices of the other type. For example, if you're taking a PT and there is a necessary assumption question in the last five LR questions, you can bet that at least one of the answer choices is sufficient but not necessary.

you seem like you have a pretty good grasp of the material, i'd say take a couple PTs each week leading up to the June test. Review and drill as necessary

im thinking about changing my test center from pace to wagner...anyone in ny recommend going that route or should i stick with pace?

i dont know if i want to deal with the craziness at pace (its been closed for a couple weeks already so its definitely going to be busy) and heard that wagner has good desks/quite.

I'm switching from Pace to CUNY School of Law as well. Heard law schools are better testing centers.

I'm thinking of an idea: Everyone ITT that is near/about/currently taking fully timed preptests, we should coordinate certain preptests to take the same day and track progress/review questions/ask others how they solved certain problems. I have preptests 17-57 thus far and would like to start taking fully timed preptests here shortly within the next week.

I think that's a good idea. Getting people on the same page might be difficult though.

1. The drill packets use upto preptests 3x. Would people be starting PTs that are drilled by most packets (cambridge for ex)? Or would the PT pick up after the drill?

2. How do you think the review should be done? I think reviewing in one thread won't be very neat - posts about different questions will become intermingled, not to mention different sections.

My schedule is funky today. I have a four hour window between 11 and 4, and my classes end at 8. I'll probably take it around 11:15, then review at night. I've been reviewing with shield, but I'm sure we can all figure something out. Ideas?
