I didn't do much work over the long weekend, but I finished MLSAT LG chapt 2 and started reading "Rulebook for Arguments" (recommended by LSAT blog) to prep for LR work.

My game plan (for LG/LR) is to drill the game by type as I go through each chapter, then revisit those drills after completing the next chapter.

So today at work I went back through simple ordering games PT 1-38. So far:

PT3-S1-G2 (4:18) -0
PT12-S2-G1 (7:12) -1
PT23-S1-G1 (3:26) -1
PT26-S1-G2 (6:42) -0
PT7-S2-G1 (5:30) -1
PT19-S1-G1 (5:59) -0
PT24-S4-G2 (4:03) -0
PT28-S2-G1 (4:41) -0
PT30-S1-G4 (7:33) -1
PT15-S4-G3 (8:41) -0
PT17-S1-G1 (5:20) -0
PT15-S4-G1 (7:20) -0

I'm definitely still not happy with those -1s, since the difficulty level on these games was 1 they really should be free points.

I'm starting chapter 3 tonight. It's titled "3D ordering" — any idea which Cambridge category this game type corresponds with? I bought the 1-38 bundle but don't see a section devoted to those types of Qs. Thanks!

Probably complex ordering. It just means another variable.

is anyone getting strategy down first before they begin consistently PTing, or is everyone doing strategy/drilling while PTing? I've only really seen study guides that focus on the latter.

Good luck to everyone prepping today

I am doing strategy first. I'm not wasting PTs until I am in confident in the results. I do drilling (PTs 1-38) by type after reading corresponding chapters. It seems to be working well for me.

I'm drilling and taking PT's at the same time. I've taken 3 PT's so far since I began studying (162, 161, 163) and have reviewed each one afterwards. As I go through each LR section I see what question type I got wrong and drill 30 or so questions of that question type (as sort of a punishment) from the Cambridge bundles. I've also been following the LSAT blog study schedule loosely and have been doing random LG's to keep me sharp. RC is what I've focused on the least at the moment. It's not as structured as I'd like it to be but I'll be making changes accordingly. When do you guys plan on taking PT 68? I think I'll be saving that one for early June; don't have a lot of "fresh" tests :/

Whenever I'm sitting here and procrastinating, I read the threads in the "law school acceptances, waitlists, and denials" for the schools I want to go to. And then, just how much I still need to improve hits me.

Finished the MLG book after work today. Still lots of work to do, especially on 3D grouping and hybrid games. But I've got time :). Going to order Cambridge and drill, and start on the LRB now (drilling the relevant Cambridge packets after each few chapters).

Let's do thisssss!

btw, if there is anyone in the DC/ or suburbs area that wants to go on a similar schedule and meet up to review, PM me. I work in Silver Spring, live in DC, and go up to Baltimore pretty regularly.

Don't worry, you'll be fine

For me, I read LGB LRB first then move to Manhattan guide, more precisely, I just started MLG&MLR, I am still adjusting my way. Keep working on it. You will catch on it!!!

crazyrobin, did you try that proctor app from the LSAT guide thread? I just played it through to test it and it seems legit.

I did!!!! It's definitely legit. But when you play with distraction, don't you think that's too much? I want to kill that guy who keeps coughing!!!

I played it without distraction and the guy still coughed twice. He's probably dead now.

ETA: Playing it in distraction mode. That shit is ridiculous. I hope my test doesn't have the guy that starts banging his pencil out of nowhere because it made me lol. That one dude is really sick in both versions. Prob swine flu. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's the same clip in both.

Thanks folks.

Those times are unbelievable.. 2:44 is crazyness haha. Imagine having a relative ordering game on the June test and finishing in the same times as you are now - the luxury of that extra time on other games would be immensely helpful

Thanks, that one is really easy though..... Set up is easy and the Qs are straightforward. I notice on both older PTs, namely PT2 and PT 4, I finished in 3 min ( PT 4 was 3:01)
But on PT 30 ish I am on 3min-4min scale. So I would argue older PTs have easy relative ordering games

Checking in! Working my way through Powerscore bibles. Made it through six chapters in LR, now on to LG. I read somewhere it was recommended to switch back and forth between the bibles at certain points. The OCD in me really wants to finish one book and move on to another, but I have a feeling I'll benefit from switching back and forth, especially when I start PTs.

And, like weathercoins, I find myself procrastinating by reading all the C/O threads for schools I want to apply to. If only my devotion to scouring the numbers and stats of others could somehow be applied to absorbing LSAT info...

Lolol, I know exactly what you are referring to. I always use distraction mode these days. Have you gotten to the old timey horn yet? It took me forever to figure out why it's in there.. I think it's either just trying to be a pure distraction, or simulating a car going by.. but the car is like.. a 1950s ice cream truck.

Which LG types mess with you all most?

For me it's unbalanced (overloaded and underfunded) advanced linears. I go -0 but my optimal setup with inferences take too long and I always end up taking about 9-13 minutes.
