Modern RC Strategies

Postby hallbd16 » Tue Nov 20, 2012 7:50 am

I know the differences have been discussed between older RCs and newer RCs. I agree with the masses that say the questions are more dense, require more inferences, that ACs wording is more nuanced and less similar to language used in the text. All these make it more challenging and compounds the issue because it means I have less time to refer to the text.

My data suggests I am dramaticall struggling more- pre 40 RCs-- there averaging -3 per passage-- compared to RCs post PT 55-- averaging -6/7 per passage.

Does anyone have any tangible strategies for addressing the phenomena/ my weaknesses? Would you suggest re-doing modern RCs over the next couple weeks going into the December tests, as there is clearly a limited amount of material (I am down to drilling RCs 1-10 now)
