What was your score? 10-14 points is a huge increase in a month. But I don't think it's impossible. What sections did you have the most trouble in? If its LG, then that you can def improve within a few weeks.

It's a generic question, so I'll give you the generic answer:

Yes, it's possible, but it's unlikely, given that you've put 4 months in already. However, and this is the important part, if you're not pleased with your score and realize that the ticket to a good career is a better LSAT, study your ass off anyway. Just because most people can't improve 10 pts by December doesn't mean you can't. Best of luck!

Thank for you for all of your responses. I'm going to retake in December and give it all I got again with a new study strategy (took kaplan over the summer and realizing how much it did not help)

Any of you recommend either blueprint or powerscore?

Thanks again

How did you do in relation to your practice test average?

Honestly, an 8 point drop from my PTs. My score is too low for me to even consider the law schools I want to go to and I refuse to settle on anything less. My tops are BC and Northeastern. I know that the likelihood of going up at least another 10 points by December is slim but I'm putting the $$ and every effort I have to try and make this admissions cycle. I know that if I waited another admissions cycle I could definitely pull off higher numbers and have more choices but I would like to start law school as soon as I can.

Beforehand I took the end of the summer to study for the LSAT 2 month kaplan course and then 1 month self prep till the test. Realize I need much more structure because i've always been an awful test taker and I know this score is not a representation of what I can achieve. Hope I can pull it off for the December with tutoring help.

If you underachieved by 8 points assuming your PTs were under timed conditions, a 10 point increase would not be unheard of. You just need to take a very real look at your performance and figure out why you sucked. If you need to take the time and study for June, law school will be there next year.

Took powerscore (full length) and increased 10 points... all of the work can be done in one month if you go at it full time. If private tutoring is an option, the powerscore guys are worth the money.

I was really not prepared but took the test anyway to get a feel for it. I scored a lot lower than my pt's (probably your range) which I think is because I messed up on 2 games badly. Taking Kaplan may have been one of the worst decisions in my life. I feel as if their goal is just to increase your score and they don't care by how much. I think the course is meant for people who want a score of around a 155. I just finished reading PowerScore's Bible books on LR and LG and believe it will help me improve. I'm aiming for December and I think most of my issues are on timing in LG. I'm looking for an increase of 10-15 points (from my October test) and think its possible as long as I take enough practice tests and review each problem and understand why a choice is right and know why the other 4 are wrong.

Right in the same boat as you! Thanks for your response (makes me feel better others had the same experience with kaplan) and I wish you all the luck!

Thank you! Have e-mails sent out to powerscore, blueprint and testmasters for private tutoring hoping plenty are still available!
