Postby nosleeptillsuccess » Mon Oct 15, 2012 10:07 pm

Whats the trick on comparative passages??

I lose so much time searching for answers to these questions or waste wayy too much time diagramming..

Any tips would be great

Comparative passages are much easier than full passages imo. Just... read them and answer the questions the same way you would with a normal passage.

There really isn't any trick. They're not much different from the standard passages. What about them seems harder to you?

And maybe this is just me, but if you're running out of time because you're diagramming an RC passage so much, I think you're going waaaay overboard with marking the passage up. I barely write anything on RC passages.

For starters, you shouldn't really be diagramming anything. Most questions will have some kind of distortion in each AC that you can identify and chuck out. If RC feels more like wading through a thick amazonian jungle at night time than shooting paintballs at misbehaving kids in your neighborhood, then you've got the wrong approach.

What's your process for a passage?

underline main point of each paragraph

circle key terms

pause after each paragraph and think

pause after passage and skim over to think then attack questions
