UT Austin Testing Center

First, has anyone ever tested there or other Austin testing centers? How were they? Which do you recommend?

Second, anyone have an idea how fast the UT Austin and other surrounding centers fill up? I'm working on getting a Fee Waiver (getting tax information from my parents is like pulling teeth), then need to find out how long that takes to process, then hopefully test centers close by are still available.

Thanks for any info my fellow Texan/Austinites (Austinians?) can give.

I just took the October test there, and everything was adequate. There were no major problems, and all of the classrooms for taking the test featured long tables with 2 spaces in between each student, so there were no issues with having enough room and the chairs were comfortable enough. I actually didn't register for the October test until about a month before it, and it's a far more popular administration than December, so I wouldn't worry for at least a bit about it filling up. They had I think 8 different large classrooms set up for test takers, so I think their capacity is quite large.

Good luck!

I heard it's at the UTC? I've had a few classes there, is it in one of the class rooms (which are fairly big, with the long tables) or is it in one of the auditorium class-rooms (of which I think there are 2, they are way bigger and also have long tables).

I'm assuming one of the classrooms as the auditorium would be a mad house trying to proctor. You'd have to have a legion of proctors in there.

It is at the UTC and was in one of the larger classrooms, and we had 3 proctors in there with us for 37 students.

I took mine in one of the upstairs classrooms at UTC, one that I actually had a class in before which was nice. Long tables, lots of space, 30ish people per class. I honestly can't think of much better conditions (although it's always cold in UT buildings) but the auditorium rooms seem like they might be a lot worse though. IIRC the beginning of the alphabet for last names got the auditoriums.
