lol i like how you classify them sending any email to you as trolling

They knew what they were doing, don't defend them

Getting an email with the subject "Application Fee Waiver" from NU would have been so sweet...

The only schools I've gotten fee waivers from were schools I didn't plan to apply to. Looks like I'm going to be spending a grand on apps.

logging on here during work hours freaks me out. I feel like everybody besides me is constantly studying. This is going to be an extremely emotional month.

Hey can anyone tell me exactly why answer choice A on question 26 in section 3 of preptest 28 is wrong? I can see why D is right but I'm having trouble articulating what is wrong with choice A. Thanks.

On a happier note its the only question I missed in this section! Haha

You know you can request Waivers, right? Not a guarantee, but every single one counts as savings.

How many schools are you applying to?

That's true reb. I'll probably request some in the next couple days.
I'm probably applying to 10-12 schools. I'm applying to several reaches because I'm planning on retaking the LSAT in Feb to hopefully get me off some wait lists. This is obviously a long shot, and might work at some schools but not others, so I'm applying to a bunch to have a better shot.

Other countries are committing the logical deduction that the premise said is irrational. (Countering an argument by countering the person's actions giving that argument in relation to the argument)

A says it is irrational, so that is correct.

The reason why A decides the argument is irrational is different from the premise.
In the premise, the reasoning is "whether or not someone in fact heeds his own advice is irrelevent to wether that person's advice should be heeded."

A relies on the irrational logic as being logical and uses the consequences of said logic to create a scenario that is irrational.

D is correct because it directly follows that the reasoning that to dismiss the philosophers idea's based on his actions is irrational. The same argument the premise makes.

I think it is because the reasoning for us making the same argument against them implicitly implies that we do give some credit to whether or not someone's actions affect the strength of their argument. If this argument assumed that people's actions have no affect on the strength of their argument then our response wouldn't make any sense.

Finished PT 55 during down time at work. 169. Not bad for having two latina ladies screaming at each other in the background the whole time.

Optimism.

If I had gone -0 on LG and RC I would have scored:

December 2011: 175
October 2012: 179

For LR I plan on minor drilling for:

-Weaken
-Must Be True
-Parallel Reasoning

If I take a game or passage in 7 minutes you not only improve your reading skills and timing -- you can DO IT ANYWHERE. :D

Does anyone have any great test day-anxiety tips? I was scoring between -8 and -12 on the PTs but got a -15 on test day, largely due to timing issues on RC and LG that I had never experienced before. My practice is going to focus on getting timing down for the hardest RC and LG passages/games, but I also need to address anxiety issues so it doesn't happen again on test day.

Any thoughts?

I've struggled with test day anxiety before. What tends to calm me down from any anxiety is a combination of Neuro Bliss and an herbal supplement called Gaba. Not sure if you have access to either, but you could give it a shot before a PT and see if/how it affects your performance.

I'd be careful with that. I was consistently getting -0 or -1 on RC on PTs so I barely studied it for October. It ended up being by far my worst section.

Lots of people slip in their best sections if they don't drill enough.

Optimism.

Very nice, congrats. I've been experimenting with ridiculously loud music while I drill to try and improve my concentration too. I hate it so much, but I guess it works.

Serious note, I wouldn't use any medication (herbal or otherwise) on test day unless it is something I had been taking for a long time and knew exactly how it would affect me. Especially something that could make you sluggish like this.

I'm writing this Saturday but I felt I'd jump in!

I've re taken:

PT 50 (from 5 months ago): 168 >_< RC hurt me on this one at -7, but I've tried to think a little more while reading and it seems to be helping!

PT 60 (from 2 months ago): 171, I'm okay with this, the games section I went -3, as well as RC and LR1, but did a bit better with only -1 on LR2. Mostly stupid mistakes from not studying for almost a month.

I also took 57 (fresh) today, and I felt horrible after it. Dinos killed me, and I felt like shit about both LR sections. I'm going to blind review after a bit of a break. I'll then take 65 Thursday as my last fresh PT, with game day Saturday. Hopefully this will be a bit easier than October!

This saturday? So those people that got their tests lost and were invited to retake on the 10th was a real thing?
