I was convinced that this happened to me for the first game on the October exam. (it didn't. But holy fuck it's the worst feeling.)

Just did PT 30... 178

very mixed emotions right now.

Edit: I did try Worm's strategy of summarizing every paragraph with a few words for my RC and only went -2 for RC... so thanks dude, seems to be helping a lot.

PT40: 167.

Well, that sucked!

LR -4, LG -4, RC -6.

9 of these questions were 1 or 2 stars in difficulty. Which would have been a 176.

Timing was an issue during LG, I got sloppy want rushed in RC because I really wanted to see my score since I figured it would be 170ish. And it would have been had I not been sloppy and rushed. Stupid me.

No, I did 29 yesterday. I'll be doing 2 a days though, that's what weekends are for when you're a month out from the test...

Ya that can be really frustrating. Just gotta grow a solid paranoia about missing easy questions and you'll start giving them the credit they deserve, increasing your consistency.

Would it be useful to read the PLG and MLR bibles if I haven't read them before? Or should I just stick with what I learned in my Kaplan course? (I know, I know - Kaplan sucks. But I can't change the past.)

Ya I'd absolutely recommend reading them. Reading them now can undo any flaws in your Kaplan strategy, so really you can change the past's effect on you anyway. Personally I used PS and I really liked the LG bible, but I hear Manhattan is great too.

So next steps: review PT 40, then drill per LSAT QA?

Read Manhattan Guides on whatever my weak areas are?

Thanks so much. Think I'm gonna get the PS LG Bible & Manhattan LR Bible. Two more questions:

1.) Does it matter if I get the eReader version of the Manhattan LR Bible?

2.) Do I also need the PowerScore LG Bible Workbook? (Or just the Bible?)

1) I haven't used it so I'm not sure how much actual drilling material it has... Normally I think its best to always take PTs and Drill how you're going to do it on test day. Making everything as familiar as possible when you're taking the real thing is the key to staying calm and collected. So if they have a lot of drilling material in there I'd say get the book. If its mostly just reading material then whatever.

2) I got the workbook too, it just gives you a ton of sections to drill; so I highly recommend it.

That's my plan. Should have the Manhattan reading guide in the mail on Monday.

I'm taking this test as well. I have it planned for Monday, but am considering tackling it tomorrow instead.

That's really great man, but just remember how easy the earlier RCs are compared to the newer ones. Not trying to burst your bubble, but I guess I sort of am lol.

I work about 70-85 hours a week (depending on weekends). I was doing this while studying the first time around too. I just do single sections when I can find time throughout the day and PTs late at night and on weekends. I've never had a problem with test fatigue, and actually the 4th and 5th sections are always my best when I do a full PT, so I think single sections/drilling works fine.

I'm pissed at myself for being sloppy during RC. But I can review plenty tomorrow.

For now: rum, vodka and Bailey's -- cuz it's like 30 degrees in NYC suddenly.
