PT 65

Post by ht2988 » Wed Oct 03, 2012 10:50 am

Took it this morning and scored 173!

LR1: -2
LG: -1
RC: -5 (was distracted by my cats knocking shit over)
LR2: -2

Raw: 91

Overall, I'm very happy with this score, considering I usually do not miss more than 2 on RC. Taking PT 66 tomorrow and reviewing both on Friday. Can't wait for Saturday! By then I will have taken 26 full length PTs, most of which I sat for after working an 8-10 hour day. I'm taking Friday off of work and getting an hour long deep tissue massage. Looking forward to going into the test as relaxed as possible. Best of luck to everyone else!

That's great!
I took the same test yesterday. I missed a few more than you. Best of luck on Saturday!

Nice! I'm taking that one later today. I'm also doing PT66 untimed tomorrow.

I just took it and was 5 points below my average. I wish I was you right now.

RC in 65 is exceptionally difficult, and is most likely why the curve is -14.

I also took this morning and got a 171! Similar scores too

LR1: -4
LG: -1
RC: -5
LR2: -2

Just gotta clean up those careless mistakes in LG and in the 1-10 questions in LR...

i've been making solid gains on RC over the 60's, until 65, where i was once again shamed by my terrible reading ability.

the 3rd and 4th passages were quite hard:(

did anyone agree ?
YES

Damn it. I planned on taking this one today as my last PT but I don't want to have my confidence shot down this close to Gameday. I just scored a 176 on PT66 and am feeling good. Now I am not so sure if I should take this one or just do some drills tonight and tomorrow.

Dude, congrats on the score! I got destroyed on the RC (my worst in a while).

LR1: -1
LR2: -4
AR: -0
RC: -8

Do you guys know if PT 66's RC is as difficult? This last time, I ran out of time on the last passage and had to guess on the last few questions (clearly, I am horrible at random guessing xD).

Edit: missing a couple of words*

DAMN IT. I should have listened to the thoughts in my head. After scoring a 176 on PT66, I scored a severely disappointing 167 on this exam. Confidence took a bit hit. RC killed me. Didnt -0 LG either which always hurts.

Just to add my case to this discussion.
In the past 2 weeks I scored 179,171,179,175 (PTs 45,63,55,64) but yesterday, I took PT65 and scored 165. got crushed on LR and RC. RC was notorious for sure. The TLS wisdom is that RC gets more difficult starting from ~50, but I think the difficulty has gone up a notch yet again from mid 60s. 64 and 66 RC were not bad at all though.... Until i took 65 i thought 63RC was the hardest ever, but taking 65 changed that.
I am usually very consistent in RC. On a good day i would get 1-3 and on a bad day 3-4. And when i thought that a particular RC section was difficult, what that meant for me was that I had around 3-4 questions starred. Yet now, the concept of difficulty changed , for on PT 65, I couldnt even touch 8 of the questions....Even on a retake, I had to leave 6 blank....
LR was brutal too. Maybe LSAC wants to F around with the 'pattern recognition' techniques of the test takers? Felt awkward throughout and even upon review I couldnt really figure out why certain questions had certain answers. For instance, #6,18,19 (esp the latter two) seemed to have required thinking out of the box. Anyways i got -9 total on LR, and would consistently get 1-3 wrong on LRs from 50s and 60s. Well thats just me.
Anyone want to share their thoughts? Is PT 65 something that should be thought of as an anomaly, or was I just out of it? haha

That's really impressive especially if you are scoring that high after a full work day, I would be so burned out. I'm also getting a massage on Friday to help me relax lol. Great job!
