Prep 29, Section1 #4.

Postby soyeonjeon » Wed Oct 03, 2012 12:17 am

I thought that the one closest to answer would be E, since strong musculature cannot be acquired by stretching. It is acquired through running and exercising, and E would be more fitting for acquiring strong musculature, than D, I think.
D will not lead to strong musculature.
Can someone help me see why D is the answer? Did I make unjustified assumptions here?

Thanks,

E is not correct because it does not address the question stem. D is correct because it provides an explanation for how cats' stretching (as stated in the question stem) contributes to their being agile and muscular.

I now see that E does not resolve the paradox.
But I do not get how stretching would lead to the cats' being muscular.

all you have to focus on is that the answer choice said that stretching could lead towards cats being muscular, and int he question stem stated that cats stretch.

Thanks a lot for the answer.
and I have no intention to be annoying but the answer only states that the cat can derive ample exercises from stretching.
It neither states nor implies that stretching leads towards cats being muscular.
only that they can exercises, which can be being flexible, but not necessarily being muscular, and I would think it is more reasonable to make the former assumption and the former assumption is more consistent with common sense also.

Thanks,
