If I can afford it...

Should I get a tutor? I would most likely be looking for a 10 hour package. I've been recommended Stratus prep and heard they're the best around. I am currently enrolled in the testmasters full length so would you recommend I stay with a tutor from there? Have any of you had a tutor or has one now and would like to share what its like? Thanks.

I should add that I currently am PT in the 154-156 range. My target score is a 160.

My tutor was wonderful. Make sure you research who though. Find out their score, etc.

It helped to have 1-on-1, IMO.

ETA: Aim higher than a 160.

A good LSAT prep book will be just as good if you read it and take in its advice. The amount of practice you do will be the real decider.

I'm also in the NYC area. What's your budget? I have done my research and can recommend a few worth reaching out to, however, their hourly rate ranges from $145-$300/hr.

Wow.^^

$300 an hour for LSAT tutoring? I've got to get me into that profession. Honestly, for the amount of knowledge and question types involved in learning the test, someone could easily spend $30,000 at that rate. Sigh, what people (potentially will do) to ace the test..

You should be able to find tutors for much cheaper than that.

ETA: Especially in NYC.
