It depends on the particular person and their responsibilities & overall plans/career goals. Some of my friends took it in Junior Year, either during a light course load in Fall or the summer as rising Seniors, with the intent of entering law school immediately after graduation. Then again, other people I know took it a few months to a year after graduation, using the time to get some job experience and relax.

There's a ton of variation in the timelines people follow and their particular motivations in planning to take it at certain points.

There is an article that may be of assistance to you in planning your LSAT prep and application strategy/timeline: http://www.top-law-schools.com/timeline-for-applying-to-law-school.html
