Why isn't the answer D? I thought E was explained by the fact that they graze and eat various foods or what not.

Thanks but that is still confusing to me. So the concept of choice as a reason for not doing something doesn't work?

I got this question wrong for the same reason you did. The reasoning I came up with was that they choose to for a reason undisclosed to us. If it had said "they choose to leave it because they like variety" then that'd be a choice based on preference. As it stands, it's just a fact that they choose to move on but we can't definitively say why.

I don't have the test infront of me so hopefully I'm not too off base, I just remember having the same problem as you.
