Can Crap TV ruin your prep?

Post by jared6180 » Mon Jul 16, 2012 10:54 pm

I have been wondering if watching crap TV like "Glass House" or "Jersey Shore" will ruin my hours of prep performed earlier today?

Yes. Stop watching NOW. Read books instead.

Something tells me if you are an avid watcher of those shows, it's not going to matter.

I'm not, I just finished my study and my wife was watching "Glass House" so I finished up the show with her, and felt a little dumber after it was done.

Good lawd, you're studying for the LSAT, not trying to find a cure for cancer. Relax.

And even if you were trying to find a cure for cancer, you should still relax. Goodness...

I was waiting for someone to post one of these threads! I stumbled upon the best pencil for the LSAT thread, in which I discovered that there is a blog dedicated to reviewing pencils from around the world. I bet you the LSAC committee could make a couple of LR questions out of that, or a logic game or two. :)

this one guy who got a 180 basically lived as an ascetic for a year beforehand, but I think by and large, you need whatever is gonna reduce your stress level, and if that's bullshit tv, it's bullshit tv.

This might be a bad analogy, as I may be an unrepresentative sample, but when I studied for the LSAT, all I did besides that was watch King of the Hill and Transformers. So 'bad' TV (finger quotes since both of those shows are awesome) certainly isn't sufficient to ruin your prep.

I try to watch Hells Kitchen on Hulu whenever I am eating. It cheers me up when that British guy yells at everyone and I am enjoying my food. This has not hurt my progress, lol

Heh, basically all I do is watch re-runs of King of the Hill and the Daily Show. That means I'm getting a 180 and going to Harvard too, right?

Work Transformers (the original 80s TV show) into that rotation and you're good to go. It's on Netflix now, I believe*.

*I'm being coy. I know it is. It's in my instant queue.
