I've spent about $750, and I'm not even taking a prep course. So I'd say average should be a little higher maybe $1k, assuming most people do in fact take a prep course.

edit: Then again, a lot of people just d/l prep materials illegally. It's almost too easy, all you have to do is type in "LSAT Torrent" on Google and you can get access to thousands of dollars worth of materials. I couldn't bring myself to do that though, especially since I give my GF shit for even d/ling a song illegally.

I spent $700 on materials and a prep class and I don't regret a penny of it.

for people that self prep then usually around 500 bucks...for people that take courses...the possibilities are endless.

Torrenting LSAT tests is not a particularly cost effective endeavor. Each test can be bought normally for like $3 right? http://www.amazon.com/10-Actual-Officia ... 0979305047

well to D/L and Print your talking 50*.05 or 3 bucks a pop. assuming u can print for 5 cents a page.

Might be missing something in my analysis.

Yeah, you're assuming people don't have a free way to print them/that they aren't printing them at home.

printing at home costs me 3 cents a sheet after inc and paper. So even at that itll cost you 1.50 per test.

IMO, the Manhattan bundle

http://www.amazon.com/Manhattan-LSAT-Se ... roduct_top

And some Prep tests,

http://www.amazon.com/More-Actual-Offic ... pd_sim_b_4

http://www.amazon.com/Next-Actual-Offic ... gy_b_img_b

http://www.amazon.com/Actual-Official-L ... pd_sim_b_1

could be sufficient. Thats only $130 + shipping. A very worth while investment.

Of course, many probably spend much more (including myself)... either by buying more PTs, The PSBs, LSACs SuperPrep with explanations, etc.

Its hard to say an average, since some test takers dont study at all, some take courses, and some over do it.

Lol you spelled ink wrong.

Also, how in the hell did you calculate it down to the page? I am willing to be your analysis is highly incorrect and easy to invalidate.

lol'ed at this

I spent about $500-$600 but like $150 of that was completely unnecessary (kaplan, princeton etc when I didn't know any better)

Also got smacked with a huge late late fee for registration since I decided to take the June in May

Still waaaay less than I would've paid for a prep course.

All of this for me, but tack on Velocity's full course for the retake.
So yeah, close to a grand.

I'm at around $500 (all books) and really hoping that number doesn't increase.

Printing 10 test would cost around $12.50 (for me and my printer, anyways). The LSAC store offers the same amount of test for around $30 (or $3 a test). So... 1.25 < 3.00.
