OCTOBER 2012 Study Calendar

I created a study calendar...

Here's how to add the calendar:
1) Go to your Gmail
2) On the black bar at the top, you should see a button "Calendar"
3) Click it
4) Google Calendar will open
5) On the left side bar you should see "Other calendars"
6) Click it
7) You will see a white box
8) In the box it says "Add a friends calendar"
9) Copy the following link: o0k36l839uo7bl3ll0gstgfj08@group.calendar.google.com
10) Paste it into the white box that says "Add a friends calendar"
11) Press the enter key
12) The calendar "LSAT" will now be displayed

1) For each day we do 2 sections from the test of that day. This should take roughly an hour and a quarter.
2) On that same day we review those 2 sections. Hopefully, you will spend at least an hour going over the questions you missed. Analysis is very important.
3) We can discuss the ones we found difficult.
4) If you miss a day, no biggie, just go on to the next.

A) On any day you wish, you can sit for the entire test plus an 'experimental' section from an old test instead of doing just two sections.
B) Then on the following day review that test. This will be especially important closer to test day.

With this method (doing 2 sections a day) you will finish tests 7 - 65 and will have 14 days to take the 5 'half-tests' or whatever tests you missed.

The calendar uses up all the test prep material (>60 tests) as efficiently as possible. 2 sections a day is a manageable goal. It provides enough time to thoroughly understand each test question.

The calendar is also a way to commit, pace yourself, and not leave the bulk to the end.

My personal analysis of the test questions takes place in this thread: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 6&t=185925

I think that following this schedule will give you a great shot at a 170+.

Here's some of my previous analysis...

For test #7 I missed section 1, problem 17.

I looked at Kaplan, and I think their answer (for why B is the correct choice) isn't good because I think the facts are relevant to addressing quality. After all, only because there weren't enough rags to make the superior paper did they start using wood pulp to produce the inferior paper. In other words, according to many people (granted that these people are dead) paper made from recycled rags historically was of higher quality than that of wood pulp. The history of paper is indeed relevant to the issue of quality.

I think the reason that B is the right choice is because the stationery supplier has proven that recycled rags make better quality paper than wood pulp, but not that recycled wood pulp makes better paper than fresh wood pulp.

Here's my analysis of questions 6, 18, and 20 in test #7, section 4 (LR).

For 6, E is irrelevant. What stops me, the consumer, from taking out an insured account, which in turn shifts most of the burden onto the bank? We end up with the same issue that the burden falls on the banks. So the argument stands even if we don't assume E. However, C makes sense. After all, if banks do indeed shift the burden back onto the consumer (through higher interest rates) then the consumers _are_ bearing the cost of the insurance!

For 18, we are trying to find an answer that would frustrate the efforts of keeping the drug and placebo users anonymous. A is the answer because if you can tell which drug the user is taking based on side-effects then you know who is and isn't taking the drug..! This is regardless of whether the drug is accomplishing its intended purpose. Side-effects give it away. As far as choice B, think about its implications. The fact that they improve regardless of getting the placebo won't make it easier to know who is who, in fact it may make it harder -- if both improve then we can barely tell the difference.

20 is imo not that bad. How can permanent character traits be changed? Further, it is feasibly logical to alter one's personality through altering one's handwriting? These are absurd conclusions. Basically the claim in question leads to the absurd conclusion that changing one's writing can alter one's personality. As far as choice B, does the passage point to a controversy, and who says I find this claim interesting? Choice B is designed to leverage the reader's opinions to his/her disadvantage.

Yeah. I'm hesitant to drill question types because that rapidly uses up my unseen PTs. While I take the PTs I do pay close attention to question types though. Eventually, I will have gotten just as much practice with question types; it will just take a bit longer.

It is technically supposed to be the sections of the day (in the calendar). That way everyone is on the same page and can discuss the test.

For example, it says 2 sections on T8 for today. I don't see what specific section whether games, passages or LR.

Oh. I understand the question. Well, it is the last two sections. Yesterday was the first two. It goes first two, then last two. I am sorry that I am giving people a late start. I only just decided to share my calendar on TLS. There is an extra 14 days at the end to use whatever material you have left. So it might actually be a good idea to miss a section or two along the way. It is probably inevitable actually. I recommend just doing what is posted for today, but if you want to go back and catch up I totally understand.

hey, i think you could apply this method(http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... =6&t=36512) to the weekend PTs, it seems work well and you can have some timed ones. :D

Your first post..!

Cool. Yeah. My method currently is to reach 180 untimed. Once I know I have a solid grasp of the test I'll work on time. Part of the reason I score lower on timed is because I get flustered. I hope to fix that as well with an untimed 180.

Thanks for the link.
