Give a 2.8 hopeful some hope!
Obviously my undegrad GPA sucks. My first two years I didn't take school seriously. Last 60 credits I had a 3.33. Can any 2.8ers share your application cycle experience with me. Please include your LSAT score.

3.0 UGPA, but 2.89 lsac gpa. Got into NU (sticker) and Wustl/ND/ W&M/UIUC with money. 171 LSAT
Take a year or two off getting any full-time WE you can. Doesn't really matter what (although working in an office will look moderately better than waiting tables). Spend that year or two getting everything ready to apply. Study for the LSAT like your entire future depends upon it (because it does) and get at least 168+ the first time. Apply as early as possible and broadly. Use your state's flagship as a backup if possible.
Best of luck!

You are probably in one of the better states for this because UNC's in-state tuition is dirt cheap and it is still reputable enough to get you out of state if you do well. You get a 167+ and WE you are very competitive. With a 170+ you could get even relatively minor money (5-10 G's a year) in scholarships and you would be looking at steal for a law degree from a tier one school.Successedtobreathe wrote:What's considered a flag ship school? (comparatively, I lived in Missouri, and took a job in Chicago specifically so I could apply to UIUC with in-state, and their in-state is almost twice as high as UNC's)

I didn't think I had a shot at UNC under a 170. I didn't even think I had a shot at Wake Forest under a 170

Anything above their 75th percentile gives you a shot, the higher above that the better; and idk about UNC, but many state schools give at least a slight preference to in-staters.Successedtobreathe wrote:I didn't think I had a shot at UNC under a 170.
