exhausting almost all PTs, but still NOT gotten where I want

I just finished PT53 yesterday, and got a 168 (a huge jump from 163), but I am not quite happy with this score. I was at 163 for a few PTs, and yesterday was a jump.

I still have PT 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, and 59 untouched. Basically I am taking one PT per week before the June test, and drilling during the weekdays. I have a concern about exhausting all the PTs but not reaching where I want. Can I use some old PTs that I practiced untimed previously for improving myself a bit?

If youve taken that many PT's you are probably ok on the test format, timing, etc. If I were you I'd double down on reviewing mistakes from old tests, working key concepts, timed sections made of questions you've missed in the past. Spread out remaining tests as benchmarks. Doing the test over and over isnt more important than learning the concepts cold.

naillsat,

What was the first PT you took and when did you take it? Try repeating it the next chance you get and compare how you did now with how you did then. Try doing 6 or 8 section tests of repeat material. If you can't 180 them, then there should be something revealing you can take away. Falling victim to a "dumb mistake" twice generally makes it suddenly become a logical error.

But at least for me, I've found repeating PTs to be helpful, and I, too, only have about 10-12 PTs remaining that I have yet to see. Also, while I would still take them timed, I don't recommend forcing any additional time constraints (30 minutes per section or something like that). Just do them under the normal testing conditions, and accept that your score will be slightly skewed. Don't let it bother you. You don't need 70 litmus tests for your progress. The five remaining that you have will do just fine.

Best of luck!

This. If you're 165+, you understand the basics of the test. What's holding you back at this point are the subtler points and inherent logical biases that are causing you to go for wrong answer choices. Just going through a ton of questions isn't going to help you at this point. Instead, focus on reviewing your mistakes not only for explanations of right and wrong answer, but also to figure out how the LSAT tricked you. You should be able to answer the following questions:
1) What about the wrong answer choice made me think it was right?
2) What about the right answer choice made me think it was wrong?
This is less about the material and more about how you're approaching certain question/answer types. You need to figure out which tricks the LSAT is throwing at you that you're falling for so that you stop falling for them.

So, in short, more review, less worrying about running out of PTs.
