Top Law Schools

I am currently scheduled to take it in June. However, my university runs on the quarter schedule and the June administration is the Monday of finals week. The only saving grace is that I'm only taking 2 classes this term. One final is a take home final that will be handed out the Thursday before and due the Tuesday after the test. The other final is an in class essay on Wednesday of finals week.

It is doubtful that the October administration would be substantially better. (It may hit during midterms). Fall term, I will be taking 3 classes. My original thought was to take the October administration so I would have the summer to study for the test. I changed my mind thinking having another test after the one I take might be good if I feel I need to re-test. I have been studying off and on since December. But only hitting it hard since the end of March. I am currently taking the Powerscore full virtual class. I am not actively prep-testing, only doing the homework in the Powerscore class. I have only taken 2 prep tests. The cold diagnostic was 150. The next test (also fairly cold) was 155. I have not taken a prep-test since I started the Powerscore classes. However, the questions that I'm sure to have missed prior to taking the class, seem to come easily.

Now I don't know what I should do.

I am not a URM. Due to a few low grades 20 years ago, my LSAC GPA will be about a 3.3. I have a great upward trend and am doing really well in my current classes. I am planning on applying early in the cycle, hoping to get a generous admissions officer with some scholarship money. Due to my geographical limitations, I will only be applying to one law school.

If you were me, what would you do?

Answering a question you didn't ask, but should have: Even if you have zero intention of attending, apply to other (peer and reach) schools. They can provide a lot of leverage as far as negotiating scholarships. (And who knows, you might fall in love with one of them. I am going to end up attending a school I only applied to for kicks.)

I understand that idea. However, I own a house and have a family that can't move.

There is a law school in my city (Lewis & Clark). The nearest school after that is over an hour away in Salem (Willamette). After that is UO (Eugene).

Ok, so apply for scholarship leverage. Just don't tell the schools you have no intention of attending.

(Incidentally, I was 110% set on Lewis & Clark, too, but I'll be at Northwestern in the fall.)

Their median LSAT is 161. I'd aim for a 165 since you are below median in gpa. Take a PT this weekend. If you aren't above 160, reschedule for October.
