Thanks for confirming

Please don't call RC fail on me.

100 - 25 for both LR, 23 LG, and 27 RC.

Thanks.

Seriously, I need some guidance on this. Do you think 2 points difference on an LSAT means much when we're talking from 155-157 range for admissions committee members? I am considering canceling my score...I might have received a point or two more, but I might have also bombed this hard. Thinking of just canceling and writing to all the schools explaining an extenuating circumstance that affected my study time.

PLEASE ADVISE :(

Went with her taking the bio internship. Key word was renown professor. Sure she could always do internships in the future, but chance of doing one with a renown professor is rather rare. It would look good on her resume. Plus she can always do EC activities beginning in her sophomore year.

Don't cancel. You already paid the money and suffered through the torture of that test...see it through! Most schools look at your higher score or some combination of both, and if you do have to retake the test you can write a much more convincing explanation at that time discussing the reasons for your first score and what you did to improve it. They will see the results of your labor at that time instead of just having to take your word for it (if you cancelled this score).

Take a deep breath and relax...

Assuming this is your second LSAT, it probably doesn't make much of a difference...I think the only schools that truly do factor in the average score are YHS and MAYBE a couple other top schools (though the latter might even be a stretch). If you just have some amorphous reason to believe that it was THAT bad, I would consider not cancelling, because usually it's not as bad (or good) as you think. However, if there is a concrete reason to think you truly bombed it (i.e. not finishing a bunch of questions or something), then you might want to go ahead and fax in that form. If you decide to do this though, be quick about it...only two days left.

Sorry, I should have mentioned this was a third attempt. So, unfortunately/fortunately no more attempts for two years. I guessed about 8 questions on LG.Those guesses mind you were on the first and third game (ran out of time on 3rd). So, that doesn't even cover the cats game which I was worried about and I can't remember how difficult the long short commercials thing was. I was counting on RC to be my weak section, not games and I had to guess a whole passage (paleontologist) because I ran out of time (guessed the same answer on all of these hoping I could get a point or two).

So, here's what I'm thinking went down:

LR1: -4 (felt pretty solid)
LG: -14 (-8 guesses/-6 others)
RC: -11 (-6 guesses/-5 others)
LR2: -8 (-3 guesses/-5 others) as it was a little harder.

So, that is -37 total. God, between the 17 questions I guessed on (has not happened on any of my recent PT's which where solidly 160-165  ) let's say 1/4 I got correct so that's MAYBE a -33. If I'm lucky. A raw score of 67 has been a point or two higher in some years, but I could have received a worse or better score on any of these by a point or two.

And here's the kicker, I told most schools that I applied to that I felt strongly that I would do better in Feb. I feel like sending updates explaining my extenuating circumstances and canceling my score now looks like I'm actually being genuine rather than receiving this score and then saying "oh yeah well you know, some bad stuff happened".

Are you sure about the number of questions you guessed? Do you guys have a system to remember that?? After the test, my brain is just a blur, I could't remember anything.

Personally, I don't think I could ever cancel because I would always wonder what my score would've been and it'd drive me crazy. Idk if that's just me though. I'd probably advise you to wait it out, and you can always explain to the schools later why you didn't do as well as you thought/were hoping you would on the Feb test if that turns out to be the case. The only thing that makes me hesitate with that though is the amount of questions you guessed on...

edit: on your PTs were you guessing on questions like that too (even if not to the same extent)?

That's the crapiest part. I was never guessing that many. More like 5 or 6 AT MOST over the whole thing. I'm usually with you on the side of just really wanting to know my score, but on this...I just feel like it's not worth it unfortunately. I never had this 8 guesses on LG and it's been awhile since I haven't been able to at least get to the 3rd or 4th question on the last passage. LR maybe 1 not finished. Gah...

I just want to say that the martian question didn't even make sense to me. I'm generally pretty good on LR (-0 to -3 per section in my prep), but I looked at that question for about 4-5 minutes total and couldn't do anything with it.

Congratulations to those who thought they got the correct answer. I wanted to rip the page out of the booklet.

All in all I felt like the games were moderately difficult, LR1 and RC were also moderate (I went LG-LR-RC-RC-LR), and LR2 was above average difficulty. I would guess the "curve" will be between -11 and -13.

I generally tested between 171 - 177, and right now I would believe you if you told me that I got anything from a 164 - 178. I really thought I would leave a little more confident in how I did.

Here's to hoping for a -14.

I think it's going to be -11. What martian question are you talking about? I had three LR sections and I still don't know which one was experimental because no one seems to remember any of the questions specifically. The first one I thought I did the worst on since I only had like 2 minutes to look over it after bubbling the answers. The second one was easier since I had like 4 minutes extra and the last one was a bit more difficult but easiest since I finished 5 minutes early and checked the two or so questions I had trouble with and changed the answers to the ones I thought were the correct ones.

But what martian question are you talking about? (We're allowed to talk about it right?)

Something about an asteroid that is a certain age old that is on mars but shouldn't be able to be on Mars, then they asked us to find an explanation for the apparent contradiction. I remember it was one of the ones I circled and came back to, but didn't think it was too bad.

Haha you can't PM either. Read the post on what we can and can't say, we just can't talk about answers. It's alright to talk about the generalities of a question.

Pick your target score... Dec 11 was -28 160, then really mull over each section, if you aren't even close..... Well you know what to do

I feel your pain

And.....

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh the suspense... It's only been 4 days!

Thanks everyone for the advice. Gotta make the decision here. Have a good night all.

most def. should have worked. What good is the internship if you won't even be in school come fall since you can't afford it? I wrote some more about it, but got straight to the point and finished it all on the first page. I treated it as a strengthen or weaken question, just on a grander scale.
uh oh. what about student loans?
Or QE infinity?

that is what I thought, but there are quite a few people here saying LSAC sometimes will adjust the curve depends how people perform on that test.

Just FYI, most people probably already knew, the average LSAT score of Feb is the lowest in a given year
