Typos in Manhattan books?

Post by zephyr36 » Wed Feb 01, 2012 3:47 pm

Has anyone else seen the typos in the Manhattan books? I'm noticing them largely in the lr book. I'm halfway through and I've found probably a half dozen. Some of them are even in their printed questions. It's not a huge deal and I like the books overall but it does require me sometimes to read a sentence a couple more time on a question.

Don't get me wrong, it's as if the book is completely useless as a result. However, one type included having "healthy" being spelled: "heatlhy" which seems like something that at the very least an automated spell checker would have picked up.

Despite these small errors, I believe that overall Manhattan's books are of high quality.

When will the next edition become available? Will it be a re-write or minor error cleanup?

We're doing a reprinting in a few months. (Unless y'all want to ban together like in some sort of hands-across-America style action and do a mass purchase to clear the distributor's stock of books). Nothing major for now. For anyone buying our books new, definitely hang onto your receipt as when we do major edits to a book - perhaps this summer - we'll swap out books bought in the 4 months before the change.

If anyone is honestly super frustrated b/c of the (embarrassing) typos, reach out to me privately and we'll make it right with you.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. We have learned the hard way that paying a professional copy editor is necessary. Apparently our geeks are smart only in very specific ways. Hopefully their LSAT smarts shine through the smudges...
