How does the LSAC average grades from other schools?

I took Micro economics my first semester and received a D in it, then I transferred to another school and received an A, after retaking it. Will the LSAC average the grades, or just use both because the grades are from different schools.

LSAC will use both grades--whether they were from the same or from different institutions is actually irrelevant. For example, if you've retaken any courses, LSAC will use both grades even though your university may use only the highest (assuming the older grade appears on the transcript, of course)

even if the course name is different. For example Econ 1-101 and Econ 1-102. Something along those lines.

I might need to look into it, but I don't think LSAC ever averages grades. I think LSAC always takes both if the grades show up on the transcript.

I'm reading it on the site. I'm just a little confused about the process.
I don't know if the lSAC does it this way:
A=4.0 + D=1.0= 5.0/2=2.5 and 3 credits
or option 2
A=4.0 + D=1.0= 5.0/2=2.5 and 6 credits
The reason i'm wondering this is if the LSAC averages the two grades it would significantly help me

Gotcha. Unfortunately, they calculate using the latter method (6 credits). That is, if both of your classes were 3 credits each, LSAC will calculate that as 3 credits of 4.0 and 3 credits of 1.0, which is equivalent to 6 credits of 2.5. You can always give them a call to verify.
