159 in December, is a 165 in February possible?

Postby princeR » Thu Jan 05, 2012 11:26 am

I can honestly put in as much time as possible, I am EXTREMELY motivated at this point and will spend all day in the library reviewing. I am also pretty excited about the fact that I just got the velocity materials in the mail. I seem to study better with a little bit of guidance. I have taken most of the newer pt's already for my december prep, so I am gonna focus a little more on just drilling this time around instead of just doing pt after pt after pt (not a good idea). I was pt'ing around 161-165, got the occasional 168-170. Honestly, I want to be done in February because I can devote all of my time from now till the test directly on the LSAT. However, is it foolish of me to think that this is possible? This would be my 3rd time taking it also. I was an idiot and took it at school after studying for a week because of the pressures from family to just take it because "I'm smart". :/

Please, any advice, stories, opinions are greatly appreciated. Waiting so long for my score only to be disappointed like that just makes me want to push even harder for my goals. I will ride of mommy and daddy for another month if it can get me the score I want. Thanks so much guys, I'll be on this board a lot, let's see if I can get this taken in February!

It is definitely possible! I consistently scored 152's in 2008, 2009 and again this October (2011) and just scored a 166 on the December 2011 test.

I took the month of November off and wrote a test a day, six days a week. When I wrote a test, I would slide in an extra section to make sure that I was doing 5 section tests (take a section from one of the earlier tests in the 90's -- they seemed to be easier). By doing this, I was prepared to take on the experimental section when I wrote the real thing. I also worked on speeding up my ability to finish the RC and the games section...which will automatically push you into a higher scoring bracket.

Hope this helps! Good luck :)

=) yes it's very possible. I retook my 159 from October and got 171 this time.

Just study a little, relax, have fun, and go about your daily life as you would normally. You will be fine for the February test.

Good luck =D I hope you kick butt.

Its possible. I got a 157 in October after about 2 months of self study. Took the 4 week powerscore virtual course in November, got a 163 in December (a 6 point increase like youre looking for)

Any more thoughts? I am using velocity materials, they are unbelievably helpful. I have worked through LR chapters 1-3, gonna try to get 4-5 done today/tomorrow.
