I'm in on this. Going to start studying for the Oct LSAT next week.

4th retake.

151 (lol) ---> cancel ---> 162

Was PT'ing 168-171 without a ton of effort. Need to work on games.

I really sold myself short before I found TLS. I had the attitude of "well I want to go to X school (regional T2 with mediocre prospects, in hindsight) so I only need Y score" which is stupid. Going for perfect this time. Also aiming to be a super splitter (LSDAS GPA 3.0)

I hope for both of our sake, that 4th time's the charm :)

Count me in for the Oct LSAT.

Took the LSAT with no preparation in Oct 2007 -> 163. Retook in February with minimal preparation (before I found TLS - I only studied probably 8 LSATs from the 90s.. no other help/work -> 167). I applied for schools this cycle, but did it last minute (in February). Going to give the LSAT one more shot and apply for next cycle. Need the boost for my mediocre 3.48 gpa.

Good luck everyone!!!

I've ordered for this cycle:
PS Bibles for LR & LG, last 20 or so available tests.

Think I need anything else? I consistently miss 0 - 2 in RC so not worried about boosting that.

I'm late in jumping into this thread, but count me in for the Oct 2012 LSAT. I'd love to have a study partner, so please PM me if you're interested/willing. Biggest challenge at the moment is simply -learning- how to do the logic games, followed by accuracy on the logical reasoning section and aiming for a perfect score in reading comprehension, where I keep missing up to four on the section.

I am debating on taking the June test I currently am missing around 4 on the RC and 4 on the LG however the LR is still killing me. I am in a powerscore class right now. I am doing a PT to see where I am. Looking for any advice on how to get through the LR without destroying my score.

I am not a strong LR/RC person, however I can plow through Games with minimal-to-no error. Willing to work with people via the 'net or live and in color (if you're local! :D ) on a trade-off of LR experience and tactics for Games tactics.

Side note: based on a quick scan of replies here, this thread should probably be re-titled to Mid-Aged Misery. 27 years old taking this awful test again, lol.

29 and... dear god, 10 months here. It is weird to be studying again. I do think the prevailing wisdom around here that 3 months is a good amount of time to study is perfectly reasonable for current students or those who are only a year out. But omg, I need 3 months just to get my brain back in gear :D

I'm officially jumping ship to the October test after being signed up for June since December. Too much involvement at school to really dedicate the time I need to get where I want to be (169 or above). Took a diagnostic a year ago and got a 156, since completing the LG Bible, I've jumped around the 160s. My best test was a 167 but my last few were a 163 and two 160s. That's when I decided I needed more time. I'll be starting the study plan over again by mid-May. Good luck to everyone!

I'll be taking the October test and have started using the LSAT Blog schedule. There is no way I would be ready in time for June. I work full time (two years out of Undergrad) and have a ten month old who still wakes up twice a night :/. I'm hoping to tackle any sleep issues in the coming month or so, as I know getting a full nights sleep in will really help with studying.

Count me in! 30, divorced, 2 kids (8 and 4), full-time job and English as a second language. Took a timed practice test two weeks ago, got 150. since then, I've been reading Powescore LG Bible (when I can actualy think at the end of the day) and LR Bible (when I'm too tired to think :)). So far LR is the srongest section, but frankly I am just bad all the way from LG to RC :(
Passed all 4 parts of CPA exam on the first try so I thought that I was a good test-taker. Not so sure about it now.
If I see that I am not making enough progress I might postope the test till December. I already waited for so long - another couple of months would not make much difference. But right now i'm on a mission to pass wth flying colors in October :)

Checking back in, I've started LSATblog's 5 month study plan this week. I'm mainly concerned with LG, on my 167, I had a -4 LR and a -5 RC which was pretty flukey, so I'm sure those will both be fine with proper preparation. I'd love to study buddy with someone else who's PT'ing in the 164+ range and is shooting at a 175+. Hit me up!

PTing with number and a goal of (not quite that high but I won't turn it down). Games are my weakness on test day. (solid at home with no time limits.).

I am sitting in a taco bell parking lot with my LR bible. Lol.

Does anyone feel like in the newer tests, RC takes longer to do? I was regularly missing 1 or 0 on older tests, and in the first new tests I took (49, 50), I missed -4 and -6 because I ran short on time and had to hurry through the last passage. It's part of the reason I am now delaying until October.

How much older? Like PT 1 - 20? Then yes.

The newer RC questions are somewhat longer + more difficult.

I'll be trying to finish the LR Bible. Trying being the operative word.

I'm back. I allowed myself to be distracted by tuition waived mba courses (job benefit). Anyway, I'll be resuming my studying hardcore today.

I'll be using the LSAT Blog 5-month study schedule. Anyone interested in partnering up, let me know

Hey y'all, I'm scheduled to take in June, but I will almost definitely be retaking in October. I'll be mostly lurking in here until July, then, but good luck to all you future gunners starting preparation now!

Finished LGB and LRB and I think I'm doing OK.

The biggest problem so far is diagramming conditional reasoning in LR questions. I'm averaging 50/50 diagramming backwards. I can almost always get the question right but the time factor is going to kill me unless I can get the diagramming down.

I'm going to keep plugging along at the Velocity course for now.

Just curious Annet. What does "diagramming backward" mean?
Glad the studying is going well!

Having a hard time fitting everything in (kids, work, school) but I had a few lightbulb moments this weekend (whew). Can't wait to do another timed PT but trying to hold off till I get through the bibles.

I'm planning on taking the October LSAT. I won't be able to start studying until June, because I'm in Undergrad on the quarter system and work ~30 hours a week on top of going to school full time, but once I'm down with school, though, I'm planning on studying full time. The quarter system kind of screws me over on when I can take the LSAT (the June and December ones are during our finals week, and the February one is in the middle of midterms, so I can only really take the LSAT in October), so I'll take it for the first time in October with a possible retake in October 2013, depending on how I score.

I'll be studying a modified LSAT Blog method, and thus far I have the last 20 preptests, Superprep, and Powerscore LG and LR. I'll probably add on more once I start studying and see what I need.

Since I'm fairly new to the LSAT, any tips for absolute beginners would be super appreciated!

Welcome leslieknope,

Tips:
Don't breeze through the powerscore LG and LR just to stay on schedule (But do try to stay on schedule). Study the methods deeply.
Review every question you take, even the ones you get right.
Don't forget to relax, rest, and recreate. If you get burned out, you're studying won't be as beneficial, and your score will suffer.

Good luck!
