LSAT retake Prep Advice

Post by lsat2011 » Sat Dec 03, 2011 7:44 pm

Hey everyone - I took the LSAT in October and scored a 167. I'm hoping to break above 173 and I'm wondering what are good prep courses/books to buy? I used Powerscore, Nova and parts of Kaplan for the first test. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

As your score approaches 170, I think the reliance on methods learned in prep materials drops off substantially. The only thing you might get from these books is a clever gimmick (like word matching for assumption questions). But that's not what you need - to go from 167 to 173, I think the only thing holding you back are your own mental blocks/biases that lead you to fall for the same traps. You should identify your weaknesses and work on them; perhaps hiring an expert tutor may give you a fresh perspective on how to approach them.
