I am currently taking a PowerScore prep course which is about half way over. My first PT was a 151 and I'm now at a 159. Is scoring in the 168-170 range realistic for the December LSAT or should I take some more time and wait until Feb?

Wait until Feb. unless you are applying for this cycle.
Do a lot of practice in December and January so that you get better score

I scored a 157 in June and got 169 in October. It is also important to note I really didn't study at all before September so I only really got a month extra training.

From my understanding, Feb is too late for this cycle. Are you 100% committed to applying for this cycle? GOOD LUCK!!!
