Anyone else scoreless because of a hold?

Honestly, LSAC trolled me on a whole new level. Reading the fee waiver appeal directions they make it clear that scores won't be sent or released until you're approved / denied, butbthey don't really make it clear that that applies for tests you already paid for. Now I'm stuck here not knowing when I may get my score or if I even need to restudy -_-.

Making this thread to see if anyone else out there shares my pain, but more importantly if there's any strategy one of you have devised to abscond our scores from LSAC or charm an attractive phone rep into relaying them to us.

Same. Apparently you can wait 2-3 weeks for them to review your appeal, or you can fax them a signed letter saying you want to abandon the whole fee waiver process. Both reps I talked to said it takes "a couple days" for them to process that. I'm trippin' though because I have deadlines starting next week Tuesday. They couldn't have cared less. I faxed my cancel letter today so we'll see if I have a score by the end of the week.

I emailed them about that and they told me I COULDN'T cancel because they were already revealing my account. This is pretty ridiculous shit, good luck with yours man, Im just hoping it's not much longer.

It doesn't really make sense to me though, because they just processed another LOR and an evaluation, so I really don't get this hold business when they just told me that nothing would be done on my account. Heres to hoping that means theyre close to a decision.

I just called LSAC. They said they've already received my appeal documentation so they can't cancel the appeal and I have to wait the 2-3 weeks for them to review it.

What a joke. In 2011 they (a) don't have an online way of handling all of this and still require mail/faxed documentation, and (b) it takes so long for them to review it. And, despite my early application deadlines, nobody at LSAC has been willing to help me in the least or even be the tiniest bit sympathetic. If I score horribly and get denied the fee waiver then I will have to pay for applications that I never would have sent in the first place. If I get a great score then I will have missed early admissions deadlines to schools that I never otherwise thought I had a chance at.

I haven't been this depressed in a long while...

Well at this point after scouring the internet and combing every thread, I'm pretty sure there's nothing to be done by waiting. Again, at least there's still two weeks until the hard deadline for most ED places, so hopefully you have time to get your apps polished and whatnot.

I'm thinking that if I don't get the score by the 31st I'm just going to register for the LSAT in Dec. If I get the waiver they'll release my score and if I like it I can keep it, and if not I'll already be signed up without the late fee. If I don't get it and like my score, I'll just cancel the test and pay the fee, and if I don't like my score I'd have to find a way to pay for it again anyway so that's my strategy (hopefully it won't come down to that).

Keep me posted on your situation and I'll do the same for you.

Not sure if you're following this anymore but I wanted to share this info with anyone else in a similar situation in the future; sifting this board didn't provide me much info when I had this problem.

I got an email this morning saying they reviewed my documentation and denied my fee waiver. Two LSAC reps told me it would take 3 weeks, another told me 10 days. I faxed it last Wednesday night and got the email this Friday morning, so a little less than 9 days. The lady I called today said my score should be released in the next couple of hours, and if not then tomorrow morning for sure. (There's another thread I was reading here where someone had to do the same wait, and the timestamps between the post when the hold was removed and when they received their score was about an hour-and-a-half. FWIW.)

One last word of caution: DON'T sign up for the next LSAT because you didn't get your score for this one, and you feel like you bombed it, and you want to insta-register for the next one just in case. After the hold was removed I was made aware that I would now have to pay my December LSAT registration fee. I knew that, but I didn't know there was no refund policy. You can get a partial refund by filling out a form and faxing a request (what's with all the paper documentation in 2011?), or you can withdraw after the refund deadline and lose all your money.

tl;dr my score was held because of a pending fee waiver appeal, took 9 days to sort it out

Same thing happened to me tyler. I'm honestly pretty shocked that I got denied, but I'm just going to ask the schools (going to have to look this up now).

Now I've gotta pay for CAS though in order for my transcript to be processed, I think I'll wait for my score first. Now the waiting game begins.
