Introduce yourself, your study plan, your target score, and other information. If you don't want to post and risk outing or something, just PM the person you are interested teaming up to study with once or twice a week through PMs (or possibly, other modes of communication). I further apologize if something like this has been posted already and will delete if necessary.

Further: Dicuss your strategy, ambitions, PT scores, and whatever else you want relevant to this LSAT.
GENERALLY:

My study plan is to utilize the the LSAT Blog's 7 month day by day / week method, and prep tests 1-63. I imagine I'll do some practice tests leading up to the final 2 months of this plan- maybe like 10-15, with the last 20-30 or so during the final 2 months leading up the exam. Will primarily just be doing exercises for the first 4-5 months, then buckling down for about 30-40 practice tests the last 2-2.5 months. I realize this isn't specific but I have to review everything first to decide how exactly I will study as I am still in UG.
I also have the powerscore bibles (LR+LG), Super Prep, the big orange kaplan book, several books on informal logic, the big fat book of games, etc.

Want a study partner to help sustain motivation/optimism over the long haul, talk strategy, help improve one another, be someone competitive but not to the point of condescension or over-competitiveness.

An introduction:

I attend a t30 private school and and can be classified as a splitter.. My cold diagnostic was a 152 and I am targeting a score of 174.

My studying begins the first two weeks of November.

PM me, or post on this thread if interested :)

DOOMSDAY: June 11, 2012 (Monday) @ 12:30 PM.

Hey there, I'm a fellow June 2012.

I'm targetting 180 because I anticipate that I will fall short of whatever target I set. Scored a 154 diagnostic, finished both PS bibles, PT'd 172 afterwards.

I'm a senior, so I'll have a year off in which I hope to get some WE in... something... before enrolling.

I probably qualify as a splitter--my GPA will end up around 3.5, but to my credit, I'm a B.Sci chemistry major & earth science minor from a public ivy known for its lack of grade inflation. It's that low because of one 2.0 average semester my freshman year. I also have significant research experience in organic synthesis & atmospheric modeling, and there issome possibility that my name will be on an article (though nowhere near lead author) by the time I apply to LS.

My plan is to go through practice tests for a while, monitor which type of problems give me trouble more than others, and after 10-15 of them, go through the LR bible again. LR is my biggest concern.

Took another PT this morning, 168. I was in a loud cafe and I didn't take any breaks. RC went up to -7, my worst so far. -6/-3 on LR, -2 LG.

I'm starting to think I should take it in Feb. I feel as if I may get bored, or that I'll get through all the material, several months before June, and then when June comes back around I won't be as ready as I would have been when I slowed down the prep. Perhaps I should just slow down my prep now instead...

How often a week are you studying? Since you've already finished the Bibles and you're PTing that high, you ought to consider February (or even December) and just get over it. Perhaps this isn't the thread for you. But other circumstantial things may still lead you to June 2012, in which I say let's do this then!

I'd like to join up for June 2012 as well. I attend a small public university (Michigan Technological University) that is ranked highly as far as public forestry/env. science goes. I'm a dual Applied Ecology & Environmental Sciences/Law and Society major, and still have two years to go before graduation if I stick with my second pre-law major. I've been studying casually for a few years, but it's time to buckle down and start a schedule. I've worked through the Manhattan Logic Games book, and have been working slowly through the first book of official LSATs. I also have several Princeton Review and Kaplan books to work from. On my PT's, I've been scoring in the 168-170 range, and I'm aiming for a 175 come June. Let me know if your interested in a cyber study buddy!

Im not working so I have plenty of time on my hands (curse/blessing " past procrastinator" ). But not anymore. Im really excited :D

Bump. I liked the whole splitter friends joint avatars idea that a lot of people used for this October's administration. Y'all want to adopt a similar idea? i feel like it will serve to bolster this thread's awareness, increase motivation, and give you guys (and myself) more people to commiserate with over the long haul!

Let me know what you guys think.

On a more thread-related note, did an hour of PR skimming today. Going to finish their book before I start legitimate prep in November [the 14th].

Edit: Also figured I should just bump this since some of the unlucky souls of October might wish to board this train.
Edit2: Edited this thread to better centralize discussion, as if you really want a study partner you can still PM people and talk outside this thread if you wish to / need to.

Hello everyone, I will be joining this study group.

I took the October exam and was in the mid to high 170's on practice tests. I ended up getting a 170 on the actual exam and I know that this is not my full potential.

Another thing to mention is that I will be taking a non-traditional approach to studying for June because I have already used the majority of released prep tests. If there is anyone else ITT who is in my situation and would like to share their thoughts on study ideas, PM me!

Also, I'm not attacking anyone's approach by saying this, but starting now/soon would be wayyy to early for me. I prepped for fourth months four October and found that that was a sufficient amount of time. So, I will probably be following this thread, but won't likely join it until somewhere in the spring time.

I would also like to join.

I just took the October test, and scored in the 161-164 range despite averaging in the 175 range. Everything that could go wrong did, so I'm hoping to break everything back down to the basics and go after the June 2012. I learned a fair amount about what works for me as far as studying goes, and what doesn't, so I am ready to kill it this time. I was considering the Feb 2012 test, but I decided I wanted to take a test that they released afterwards.

I have the LRB and LGB and the Manhattan LR and RC. I plan on going through these again, probably starting in December. I also plan on going through the Cambridge LSAT LR bundle sorted by type (PT 1-38), as well. I might also purchase the LG bundle and go through the Pithypike LG study plan. I am pretty strong with LG, but went -4 on the real thing (so, obviously not strong enough).

I am on the same boat as you lsatprepguy, I only have about 5 fresh tests that are in the 30s, which have LR questions I will see when going through the LR bundle. So I am somewhat at a loss, too. I suppose I will go through all of them again, perhaps timing sections at 30 minutes or so, and take the results with a grain of salt.

Good luck with the studying everyone, 180s all around, I hope.

ETA: I'd also be interested in an avatar, though I definitely couldn't be defined as a splitter with a 3.8x.

Decided to stick with June, because I don't want to force myself to get through a ton of prep before Feb. My GPA sucks and I need to make sure I get 4.0s this year.

Kind of ticked it's not in the morning though; I definitely prefer morning tests, especially on cold/rainy mornings... don't know why... Just used to it I guess.

I'd be up for an avatar!

Hi guys. I'm also thinking about taking the June 2012. I hope all goes well. I don't want to go through the real LSAT questions just yet. Does anyone have any advice or books in mind that have really good questions, but aren't real LSAT questions? I already went through the bibles. Thanks much. :)

I am not saying you shouldn't do this, but I will just urge caution in using non-official LSAT questions. I have read in many different sources that using externally made questions is not only pretty much useless, but also dangerous.

Retaking June 2012 for my 3rd try.

I've already used every PT, but I'm buying extra copies of every test, and I'm going to retake them all in the next 7 months. I was clueless for the majority of the tests I took, and although my scores will be inflated, I'm just doing this for practice for a faster/better intuition.

I heard that the logic games are much easier in the newer PTs. What do you think about that? What about RC and LR?

Okay, I think I'm in for this. Haven't taken any diagnostics nor have I even looked at practice questions. Just ordered the PS bibles last night and am going to follow Pithypike's guide. Do y'all suggest I do take a diagnostic before diving into the bibles?

Edit: Target would be 170+ ..

LG's have are usually considered to be easier in recent tests. Yes. But, there are some tests which they have been more difficult than average or just simply time consuming, and therefore, logic games should not be taken lightly. (i.e Dec 2010 or Oct 2011).

RC is SURELY harder than it was in the earlier practice tests. LR, imo, stayed pretty constant.

I took a diagnostic prior to reading the bibles and now that I look back on it, it was a waste of a test. :P but, up to you.

I thought a diagnostic was pretty useful. It let me know what to expect when I started reading the bibles. I had literally never seen an LSAT before I took my diagnostic, so I had to go entirely off of my experience with other standardized tests (GRE/SAT). It also lets you see quantitatively just how useful the bibles are. My score shot up at least 15 points after going through them, which serves as encouragement to continue studying.

Wow weird. Similar to me.
I'm targeting 180 too because I just took the LSAT and got a 171 when I was PTing higher. Sidenote: my goal for Oct. was a 180 too. I obviously failed but I think it helped me tremendously because it prevented me from getting complacent.
I'm also a senior, getting some WE or traveling before enrolling.
My GPA will probably be around 3.2-3.3 though. I'm also a Chem major from a public ivy (or I think it is). I also had a 2.0 freshman year. Yeah we're pretty similar besides the GPA and your research experience.

I will be taking a 2-3 month hiatus from the LSAT because I'm pretty burned out right now. I plan on studying around Feb. or March, depending on my school load. I'll be sticking around though, checking TLS here and there, maybe taking a PT once in a while.

Study plan: I already went over PT 7-63 so I plan on doing it again under shorter time limits. I just need to make sure I don't get rusty since I was PT-ing in mid 170's anyway. Saving superpreps, test 1-6, 64 and 65 for the weeks prior to the test so I can see where I am.

Hi all, at this point I'm planning on doing the LSAT in June. My background is Architecture but I've been out of school for 4 years now doing all sorts of things.

I'll be using Power of Logic by Layman to do a quick review of the formal Rules of Inference for Logical Reasoning although that section is already pretty easy for me. I'll be using a book of Torts to improve my mental endurance and comprehension in reading jargon without having to waste time reading twice. I'll be using first Manhattan's guide books to improve Logic Games and only after that will I do the Bibles for further improvement iff necessary.

I've not yet done a Practice Exam. I have the June 2007 one on my computer from the LSAC website and might do it this weekend. My ultimate goal is 180. Why would anyone have a lesser goal?

I'd prefer working with someone using different materials so that if I get stuck on mine or you get stuck on yours it would expose new questions and methodology to us both.

Anyone want to work with me?

It is mine as well. I did terrible on rc this past test in Oct,which is basically the whole reasson I am Retaking. If I can perfect RC, I would probably score very very high.

Hey everyone,

This is exactly what I'm looking for. I joined the December study group and they are very organized. Noah from MLSAT helped them set up a chat room where they meet every Tuesday to discuss strategies etc. Maybe we can get something like that!

I have the LR & LG Powerscore bibles, The Powerscore LG Workbook and I just ordered Kaplan's Mastery Practice (2009 ed). I also have PT's 1-60 on pdf's. I'm going to attempt follow Pithypike's plan. The highest I have PT'd was a 167 and the lowest was a 154 so I definitely have a lot of work to do before June.

I would be happy with 165+ on the real deal. PM me if interested! Lets do this!!

Do you think he would create a study group now for June 2012???
