I want to because I need creative study methods - already done every single released question, some twice, so I'm going to have to get a little creative.
Quick question! I will also probably be retaking as well. But are you sending out your apps before you take December? I am torn between sending out my apps early + adding a Dec score vs. sending apps out late with Dec. score.
What are you planning on doing?

I'm waiting on my score to decide about retaking, but would love to study with you guys all the same, and would also love to swap PS's with someone...mine is about 2/3 finished?

Re: Dec. 2011 Retakers Study Thread
I've been PT'ing in the upper 160s consistently. I did Kaplan originally (cue the "no wonder you're retaking again"), but I just ordered the LG Bible, the LR Bible, and the Manhattan RC book.
Does anyone have any experience with those? Does anyone think this will be able to boost my score into the 170s?
Thoughts?

The LG and LR bibles are pretty good. I studied using only those 2 books + Kaplan mastery and PT'ed from 165-175, averaging 169. I recommend getting something to supplement the LG bible, I don't like how they handle sequencing games. Kaplan mastery helped a ton for LR. Being able to practice LR by type, in order of difficulty was amazing. If I retake, I'll probably grab the Manhattan RC and LG.asunshinee wrote:I've been PT'ing in the upper 160s consistently. When are you guys going to start prepping again? I'm thinking about starting next week. Giving myself this week off to relax and clear my head out....

I'm not quite done but need to swap soon- want to swap at the end of this week/ beginning of next? Send me a pm if so. (Also hi retakers You all rock. I'm crashing your thread even though I'll probably end up sticking with my 168, just can't handle a 3rd LSAT while working full time.)imjustjoking22 wrote:I'm waiting on my score to decide about retaking, but would love to study with you guys all the same, and would also love to swap PS's with someone...mine is about 2/3 finished?

Re: Dec. 2011 Retakers Study Thread
Took the Sabbath observer LSAT yesterday and choked on the games...I took about 25-30 preptests since mid August. Without realizing it a bulk of them were really early tests and was consistently getting 170-171. I began taking the later tests and was scoring 167-169 - last test before the LSAT got 165.emkay625 wrote:Would anybody be interested in creating a common schedule/group just for retakers in December?

I have pdf files of every test but I cannot see myself studying nor do I really have time until maybe winter break (currently in a full time masters program through early June). That means December test is out. If i don't study squat how much should I expect to regress. Should I expect to start at a 160-163 if I neglect LSAT study for 2 months or will I expect to start from my original diagnostic. When I started prepping over the summer my diagnostic was a 158 (I had read a book on games and was somewhat familiar with them but lacked speed and proficiency).
Quite down at the moment. I don't know why but I find it hard to cancel even though my gut tells me I royally bombed the test.

I'm going to start in a week too. I'm trying to enjoy the week off of studying LSAT-related material, but I keep getting antsy about getting back to studying. Not to mention that I just want my freaking score already! I was going to wait until I got my score back to decide whether I'm retaking, but I just feel that I completely underperformed my norm.chesterfan1230 wrote:When are you guys going to start prepping again? I still have a good amount of tests and sections left, so that is what I am going to predominately work on. I feel that I have all of the concepts locked down, just need to work on locking down the time under stressful conditions (test anxiety sucks). My plan is to do light studying up until November 1 (mostly sections and some drills) and then pick up the pace and finish November with all practice tests.
I can vouch for the Manhattan books, I think they are great. I'm going to review the LR book again. The LG book has some great strategies and the RC book is the best out there by far.

Thanks I've been over there a bit, I don't know why I have been just swapping over with the October people rather than in that forum, I should probably take my POS PS there, haha.LSAT Blog wrote:Check out the first stickied thread in this forum:imjustjoking22 wrote:I'm waiting on my score to decide about retaking, but would love to study with you guys all the same, and would also love to swap PS's with someone...mine is about 2/3 finished?

After today's score.... I'm 100% retaking. Didn't even hit my max potential. I have about 14 exams to cover of the next 5 1/2 weeks! We can do this people!

Definitely retaking after my Oct score but I have literally done every single lsat question and then some so I have to find creative new ways to study.

Re: Dec. 2011 Retakers Study Thread
I've been through the LR and LG Bible, and they were pretty helpful. I've found that the LG Bible sometimes over-complicates things in the diagrams, but it is still really useful.asunshinee wrote:I've been PT'ing in the upper 160s consistently. Re: Dec. 2011 Retakers Study Thread
Anyone have any suggestions on books for drilling purposes? I've been through the LG and LR Bible (and skimmed the RC Bible), but still got rocked. I am now in need of new ways to prepare, so I figured drilling might help. Suggestions? Thoughts?
