Highest score ever. Gotta drill more on Logical reasoning and Reading Comp though.

Chester, are you prephrasing?

Also, if you still can´t get to the last passage, you may want to go ahead and start planning for that. Think about it, worst case scenario, you get to 22/28 questions, get 21 right, and go through the last passage and strategically guess all the right answers. I think you could hit -3, -4 consistently with that method. I used to think about doing it that way but prephrasing really sped me up. Anyway, just a thought!

Thanks 180 and Calex... What do you mean by prephrasing?

Before even looking at the answer choices, you should have already formulated an answer in your mind. This is the single most important factor in being successful on the LSAT.

I do this for LR, Question anticipation. not really for Reading comp though.....

And i looked at my mistakes. Should've gotten a 177 (excluding the lack of time in reading comprehension.)

My problem with reading comprehension isn't with reading the passage, more like i waste too much time on the questions.

Hmm.... I should prephrase. Just not sure where' to start RC isn't so easy with that.

RC is easy with it; if you can prephrase, it means that you are really working on remembering the passage and its structure. You can use the post-it method; even on inference questions, you should have a broad idea that the answer will be inline with.

Took Dec 09 yesterday (but it was slightly chopped up and not all at once...not happy about that, but what are you gonna do? Had to drive my brother to work at the last minute  ) aka PT 56:

LG: -1
LR1: -1
LR2: -4
RC: -1

for a 174.

Idk dudes, I'm getting BURNT OUT. I was supposed to take a PT today, but think I might instead go over what I got wrong on this test, read the PDF on the "substitute a rule" questions on LG, and do 2 timed LR sections. Then I'll do Oct 11 test on Friday (getting up early and simulating...I should wake up around 8, start the test at 10?) and then another test on Saturday. Thoughts?

Hope everyone else is killin it. I've just been at this since late June and I. Am. Tired. Why am I retaking a 169 again?

BECAUSE WE ARE ALL GETTING 180S. THAT´S WHY!!

Anyway...

My advice would be to take a day off. At this point, you can probably take as many as you need really. (Just don´t take them in a row). I would definitely start getting up early now, taking the tests at like 9:15.

I've been trying to simulate the whole test day environment as much as possible, just so it doesn't throw me off too much.

Here´s my plan of attack:

17 - old PT/review
18 - OFF
19 - new PT/review
20 - old PT/review
21 - old PT/review
22 - old PT/review
23 - RC drills/analysis
24 - old PT/review
25 - OFF
26 - new PT
27 - RC/LR
28 - new PT
29 - review, RC/LR
30 - RC/LR
1 - new PT
2 - OFF
3 - 180/drink
4 - drink
5 - drink
6 - sleep

Hahahaha, NICE. I like that plan. You're a retaker too, right calex? What did you get in Oct if you don't mind me asking?

My schedule:

17- 2 RC sections timed, 1 LR section timed, 1 LG section timed
18- Oct 11 PT/review
19-2 LRs timed, 2 LGs timed
20-PT/review
21-PT/review
22-2 RCs timed, 1 LR timed, 2 LGs timed
23-PT/review
24- Turkey day OFF
25-PT/review
26-3 lrs/3 lgs
27-3 lgs/1 rc/1lr?
28-PT/review
29-2 LRs, 2 LGs
30- PT
1/2- MINIMAL minimal. i'm thinking 2 sections timed per day, then going on long walks, reading for fun, and getting good nights of sleep.
3-LSAT
4,5,6- deck the mo'f****n' halls
7-12- IM GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!

hahahahhaha. deck the m**********'n halls, I have no idea what that means....

Dec will be my first time. I cancelled my registration the day before the Oct test. There weren't any prep courses offered in my area so I moved in with a friend in Cincinnati in August to prep. Turns out, he's a bartender, as are his two roommates. It wasn't the most LSAT-friendly environment. :)

I also cancelled the day before October, too funny.

I will post my plan for the next two weeks, a bit later. Definitely going to do very little after the Wednesday before the test.

November 17-December 1
PTs, Velocity stuff, ending with the October 2011 LSAT. I have seen almost every single question since PT 1 from both LR and LG (PT 29 onward for RC, as I'm not as concerned about it since I have never had a hard time with those RC type of stuff). I have about 6 more PTs to go, and they are all more recent tests.
Dec 3-Destroy the damn thing, fly to San Francisco around five p.m. MST
Dec 4-49ers vs. Rams game, pig out at that burrito place from Man v. Food afterward
Dec 5-Metallica show at The Fillmore. Perfect way to finish the weekend post LSAT.

We got this.

Actually, I'm a Niners fan in Cowboys country (I'm from far west Texas near the Mexican border).

Not so good result for 58:

LR1: -2
LR2: -7
RC: -6
LG: -2
LRX: -5

-17 for a 165.

I've got a good story to explain it, but I'd rather not dwell on it. I have 14 days to get to the place I need to be (right before taking Thursday and Friday easy).

Instead of copping out and relying on the possibility of a June retake, if I don't get what I need, I'm going to put my all into these next two weeks and roll the dice.

I know, now, that I have the capacity to get what I need to get; now I need to train in such a way that I raise my ceiling and I become even more consistent at being at - or above - my current ceiling.

I've never really meant this until now, but...

We got this.

I like the way you think.

Took two PT's this week- 49 and 50. 164 and 166. on 49 my mind had a brain fart during the first LR and lost interest halfway through and still managed to get -5!

What's keeping me enthralled is that before Oct 11 I had barely cracked 160 on two PTs and now I've been stuck in the mid 160's.

I think sometime next week I will take massive 8 or 10 section test (one of the 50's with one of the 30's mixed in) tp really work my stamina.

It's such a strange feeling getting frustrated that I can't break mid 160s when a month a go I'd be happy if I got a 160. Dec will be my third time (ha ha 3rd on the 3rd!)

Got my lowest score on an RC (-1) and I'm going through necessary vs sufficient assumptions in Velocity. Apparently I've been doing them wrong, the whole time; how quaint.

PT48: -6, 172. 95/101. Yeap, you read that correctly. I gotta be doing the worst curved exams in history

pretty psyched about the 95/101, but seriously, in December, give me the hardest exam of all-time, just give me a decent curve!! :)

I am killing RC these days. read/10 seconds thinking of structure, purpose, attitude, main idea/prephrasing the questions. SLAM!

I'm psyched for December 3, I feel totally ready.

LEETTSSS GOOOOO

This is actually awesome news, you know? you can instanteously pick up a minute or so and probably get a question or two right that you wouldn't have otherwise.

Yeah, I'm finally at the point where I feel confident in my understanding of what each question is asking and how to attack each one. I need to solidify my approach, through drilling, but I feel like I'm in a better place. I'll be doing more diagramming on LR (parallels, must be true, etc.).

I was just told about a fantastic LR technique where one circles the relevant aspect (e.g. "strengthen", "weaken", "assumption, depends") of each question stem on a page, in order to save time on LR.

I don't want to jinx myself, but I feel I'm in the downslope portion (because I am accommodating new thoughts and approaches) and I will hit a new height once I fully adapt to these changes; I'm just going to roll with my results on Saturday and Monday, all the while realizing that I will become a better test-taker for it.

So happy to see everyone is doing well.

I've taken 6 PTs since Sunday and I've consistently scored between 172 - 175 .

I have conquered the RC and LG sections thanks to many pieces of advice y'all gave me on here.

Now i need to minimize the losses on LR. I HATE PARALLEL FLAW WITH ALL MY HEART.

17 more days guys. Lets get it.

Calex 180asbreath and everybody else, DON'T STOP BELIEVING. The LSAT is a learn-able test and we're doing everything that's humanly possible to get the best score.
