I was hoping you were just going to say "We saluuuuuuuuuute youuu".

If you're consistently getting -1, first off, congrats, that's pretty damn good. Seems like you must just be making a simple error if its just one question, unless its a specific question type that's throwing you. I'd say review your mistakes, see if theirs a commonality.

Happens to me more often than not simply because I'm careless. If you finish with 3 minutes left or so, you almost always have time to check your answers before in every game. One of the advantages of LG is that you can get so quick at them and they become so rote that knowing you are 100% right is possible. And say you've left yourself only 8 minutes for the final game, you should have practiced and done enough problems by now that 8 minutes if plenty of time to finish, let alone also check your answers on that section. And if you have so 'little' time left, it's probably because one of the proceding sections was more difficult so it's safe to assume (even if it's an ugly assumption) that this section won't be as taxing.

Well then, a question for you high-scoring LGers... Do you consistently do templates in your setup or no?

When it's a game where I need to "identify the templates", then I do. If by consistently, you mean on every game, then no.

Normally if I get one wrong on LG it's a "must be true" question where in my haste I'll work out a couple possibilities and go through the list until I find one that fits my theoretical scenarios and then I move on without eliminating the other answer choices so I end up choosing one that could be true rather than must be true.
Other, rarer, times on a "must be true" or "must be false" I will start eliminating answer choices and then I'll come across an answer choice I know must be true and circle it forgetting that it's asking me for which one must be false.
So essentially, when I make a mistake it's due to overconfidence and not being as careful as I normally am.

What is a template? A hypo or a master diagram?

I do both on every game. I'll always have my master diagram and usually do one hypo really quick to try and get a feel for the game.

I went -1 on the june test. Didn't review the question but I probably was either careless or didn't check it correctly.

Powerscore has a method for certain games they call "Identifying the Templates". Basically if there's 2 or 3 major directions that the game can go in then you would want to draw out 2 or 3 diagrams (templates) that can help you answer the questions.
I'm sure you already do this, minus the name.

I was in the habit for a while of always trying to force hypotheticals when they really weren't there, or there would be too many to be worth writing them out. It's a matter of being able to identify when its worth it to invest the time on the front end.

I use one 'master' template at the bottom with the rules around it and inferences I make. If a game has restrictions that means it will be stacked like 1-2-3 and two on each except one, I don't write three templates, just the main one with 3 spots on each number. I'm also not good enough to write out the two or three ways a game can go based on rules alone, but I find that with the basic template and rules I have enough that I'll consistently get -1 (and that one arises due to carelessness and not checking :/)

i'd definitely check all answers next time, had like 8 minutes when i finished, but i thought taking a short rest could benefit my next section.

to answer the question about templates.

no, i don't do them. or i do them rarely.

i usually proceed until i see a clear need that i need to do them. eg. when i am stuck on a question, i realize that i might have missed something. so i go bak to make templates and additional inferences.

This happens to me on LR/RC. I finished an LR section yesterday with 5 minutes left, and instead of reviewing in-depth, I gave myself a few minutes. Cost me a few points for sure.

Dude bro, it should take like 5 min MAX to check through all 22 questions. You'll still have a 3 min rest. WHY ARE YOU GIVING UP POINTS??? C'mon man! You're thiiis close to getting a perfect on this section but you just sit there and relax for 8 minutes instead?

Check. Yo. Answers.

Yeah, check your answers. Once the test is over you'll curse yourself for not having taken advantage of every possible opportunity.
